Urist Mcforumgoer waited. The unread posts button above him was clicked again and again. There were Descans in the forum. He didn’t see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Threetoe were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
John was a bay watcher for fourteen years. When he was an escaped lunatic he lurked the forums and he said to Toady “I want to be on the forums Great One.”
Toady said “No! You will BE SCANED BY DESCANS”
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the forums of Bay12 he knew there were Descans.
“This is Threetoe” the radio crackered. “You must unscan the Descans!”
So John gotted his static avatar and caused a 500 error.
“HE GOING TO UNSCAN US” said the Descans
“I will vibrate at him” said the GlyghGryph and he fired the unsettling vibrations. John posteded at him and tried to unscan him. But then the forums died and they were trapped and not able to make posts.
“No! I must unscan the Descans” he shouted
The radio said “No, Urist. You are the Descans”
And then Urist was a scan.
