I'm very much not sure about this squad claiming thingy.

I mean, it causes confusion, prevents cooperation, and will lag the game down significantly.
It may lag things down, but I don't see the negatives regarding cooperation and confusion. We still all win together, so working together is the best way to do that. Confusion? How so?

I think it provides greater flexibility, since we don't all have to agree to a single set plan, came up with by one person. This way, we don't have to follow one idea, and instead can collaborate more fully.

No, I'd rather keep this a vanilla suggestion game. I don't like waiting on players.

No, I'd rather keep this a vanilla suggestion game. I don't like waiting on players.
It won't slow anything down since the game will still proceed as normal, people will simply command their units and if they do not post by the time I start doing an update (which will be when I feel sufficient people have posted for the suggestion controlled group, sufficient amounts from among the players who control units, and when I wish to do a turn.) Not to mention changing to multiple players makes upkeep a lot easier as the units will be different colors on the map and there will never be more than two of the same unit per group (except maybe the suggestion controlled group).

But yeah this was always meant to go multiple players, since I am making this ruleset and everything for the sole purpose of creating a system where several people can sit down and have an enjoyable wargaming experience.

Well hey you're the GM after all. Do what you like boss man. :p I haven't finished reading this anyways so I don't think I deserve an opinion. I just like suggestion games.

...I shouldn't have said anything.

Then you get cities like Paris where you should basically just kill yourself already.

You won’t have to think anymore: it’ll be just like having fun!

Yay! Combat engineers! So useful! And a map would be nice whenever that's ready.

Alright the map is added in a spoiler just below the mission info, also anyone who wanted units check the first post to make sure I got your color/the units you wanted down right or if I missed something. Keep in mind I didn't add anything if you called the units the names Mr. Strange added in his planning map because I'd have to have gone back and checked, and would likely mess something up in the end. This mission will likely result in numerous unit deaths, and will probably be pretty challenging so I'm looking forward to how you guys handle it.

Take out the outside defenses and keep up suppression fire on the fortress guards, hopefully they'll be clustered and unable to move. Once most give up we'll have our units go into entrances to take the rest of the fortress.

Best guess is siege warfare. We shell them with the artillery, keeping it supplied. When those run dry, we can send in the boots.

Well it's supposed to be built to resist bombardment. We might be wasting our time with that.

What are the walls and gates like? Or do we need to get eyes on it for details like that?

I mean over the walls. Trying to breach the wall would not work at all.

That's what I meant. The fortress itself is built to resist arty, so I doubt firing artillery within or directly at the walls would do anything, ever, to kill the enemy or get us inside. I'm saying we might have better luck going in with an infiltration-type strategy, but we should probably make that decision once we figure out what we're dealing with exactly.
