The mindflayer's tentacles wiggle a bit, finally getting the hang of their language.

The bullets seem to suddenly stop mid-air and drop to the ground.

"Again, why would you want to? There are better alternatives that don't involve you getting jumped by fifty people in the next five minutes or so."

The soldier fires a few more shots, before just laughing and pulling out his boot knife.

"I'm warning you, sunshine."

Once again the bullets stop. Anyone who could detect a thing would find that the mindflayer has a psychic shield around him.
