"The Negative" what do you mean by that?

I fixed the OP thing. It is "[Source/Chance/Range] Name (Damage)" thing...

Goblins do not level into anything. This means they simply go up in stats [Roughly 10% increase each time up until about level 10 when it becomes 5%]. This is, at first, not as good but it means they can level up quite a bit faster than higher level even though it takes a bit longer for them to become more powerful.

Different Gladiators do indeed require different amounts of upkeep.

Do we not get to find out what their upkeep cost is before we buy them, then?

Explain Goblins a little more, then, please? They level up faster, but don't have as large of stat increases? Is it cumulative 10%?(~11% 2nd time, 12.1 third, etc.?) They seem to level more slowly than Bob the Peasant over there.

I think the unsaid implication is that more advanced classes level more slowly.

In battle, does everyone have the same number of turns and initiative just determines turn order, or does it sometimes let you get in additional turns?

I want the Goblin Archer, but at the same time, if he can be taken down in 3 rounds versus him taking other guys down in 4...

-1gp is the minimum cost. If it's not higher than that I just don't mention it.

Well, as Toaster said as I typed this, higher leveled units level up more slowly.

Let's take the Peasant > Mercenary > Spearman [Upgrade of Merc.] vs the Goblin example.

To become a Level 2 Spearman requires roughly 35 + 75 [Merc.] + 450 [Spearman] for around 560xp for his first level up as a Spearman. The goblin will level up about 11 times for the same amount of XP. The Spearman then requires 450 to go to level 3. The Goblin will level up 9 times for that. So eventually the Goblin will surpass the Spearman. Granted other units like the Squire > Knight > Imperial Knight > Paladin tree gain special abilities which might surpass any normal stat increase the Goblin can pull off.

Did that help?

Combat happens in round. Basically higher initiatives are added to a die roll [I'm using d10 for now, but might make it larger later on depending on his works out]. So let's say A-D are fighting. It would go [Roll] A, B, C, D [Reroll] B, A, C, D [Reroll] B, A, C, D etc... etc...

I think it did, though it makes me sad that the Goblin will never be more than a Goblin Archer/Goblin Warrior. Never becomes Chieftain or Artillery or Fanatic. :( Poor Gobbos. It would be cool if they could become something more advanced around level 10, at least. Or at least have the option to. Goblin Thief, etc., ya know? Ah well. We'll see.

Getting a ranged unit might not be the smartest, with how Archers can die in 3 hits, but the 50 HP guys need 4(or Imps, of course, who only need 2 to kill Archers and 3 to kill everyone else).

I'll take Jig the Goblin, then.

I hope I can get a Fire-Spider at some point.

Ooooh, fire spiders? That intrigues me. I didn't even think of that...

Just a heads up to everyone, I do take requests. If you give me something to work with I'm fine with statting something up for your school.

I am intrigued at the imp's potential for corpulence, but I feel that a potential mercenary best meet's my stated objectives of acquiring mercenaries. Peasant Ugly Jerry, you're with me.

You absolutely may. I don't know how hard or easy this is to run yet, so I don't know how many people I'll allow in the final product. For now though I'm sticking with six.
