Maja thinks it over for a couple seconds, "Eh. Maybe? Why?"

Tia simply tears a small piece of egg out and puts it on her plate.
"You are a sweet man," she kindly says as she gazes into his eyes, "people should treat you better and to a good meal, at that."

The Cu Sidhe ducks his head, blushing. He scuffs a boot on the floor, taking a plate and sitting on his knees near the Princess; the only chair near enough to allow him to sit would be the Throne, a terrible idea for any number of reasons.

"Aw, I dunno. Thank you, m'lady, f'r the compliment, but...well, I ain't got no royal blood like you; I was a clock-maker, 'fore I got this post. I ain't got more 'n a speck o' Oberon's blood in me. With all the fancy techno-magicality all the merchants be bringing from Over the Hill, though, I knew I wasn't gonna be in business long. Still. Was nicer, then. None of these gosh-darn interfangled politics to deal with. 'S practically the only thing there is to talk about, these days. Bunch of oak-born gossipers, like! Bad as school girls, I tell you. Arranged marriage this, border renegotiation that. From what Clove tells me, there's been some tensions goin' on 'tween the Blossom King and Her Grace, thanks to one o' the Naiad families havin' some dispute with the Selkies o'er a river delta. Ridiculous, if you ask me. Ought to just share the place and be done. But no one ever asks the Cu Sidhe, or anyone low-born at all, for that matter. We're Summerfolk, after all. Not rightly welcome in the Winter Court..."

He looks a little depressed, but the expression fades to one of simple contentment and happiness as he fills his plate about halfway; it's rude to be a pig in front of a lady, after all. As he takes a bite, the door opens, and he blanches, turning around to see the Kelpie who had escorted Tia to the Court standing in the doorway. He looks absolutely mortified, swallowing and nearly choking in his haste to stammer out an apology, standing up so fast it's a miracle he didn't trip the cart over.

"I- Uh- M'lord- I mean- Well- I was just- Oh, bugger...'M sorry, m'lord..."

The poor fae seems extraordinarily frightened as the Kelpie strides forward, something not quite anger- satisfaction, perhaps? - lurking behind his dark eyes as he very purposefully refuses to look at the guard. Clove remains behind, standing at attention by the doorway, but his face is pale and his eyes continually dart to his canine companion currently cowering back from the steps to the Throne dais that Tia's chair is on, worried as to the man's fate.

Tia calmly sips her orange juice, not paying any attention whatsoever.

"It is indeed. It's too bad it has to be ruined by vermin."

The Cu Sidhe looks pleadingly to Tia before marching back to his station, face aflame. He stands at attention, very carefully not looking at the two nobles in the room. There's something unaccountably depressing about seeing a Cu Sidhe's look of betrayal and sadness. It was like the universe was frowning at you through them. The plate he'd used was back on the tray, having been placed back there when the guard had stood up.

Murcheadh, on the other hand, was smiling at Tia, and moved the cart to one side, out of the way, before continuing. The smile was not a particularly pleasant one, and it did not reach his eyes. His dignity in bowing to her, was completely genuine.
"Would you like to take a look at the garden, now that you've eaten? It is, of course, no comparison to the gardens you must have at home, but I feel it will still be...interesting, to you."

Kyle messes with Maja's hair.

Maja looks up at Kyle and does a little stretch. Which also scoots her a bit closer to him. "Hmmm?"

"Vermin? I did not know you had rats in this court--if you mean that sweet man, he was certainly more caring of me than the ones who left me alone. If anything, that man should be honored. Men like him do jobs which others do not, and keep everything in order--even if you think lesser of it. Perhaps a concept alien to you, but a very important one nonetheless," she states with a frown before gently wiping her mouth with a napkin.

His smile fades as she speaks, though his composure never wavers

"I did not realize you held such a high opinion for those who neglect their duties. Nonetheless, if you are indeed grateful for his intrusion, perhaps he will keep his post. I will have to speak with him about his behaviour, in any case. And possibly to the kitchen staff..."

He sighs, the first sign of real emotion yet to be shown on his part, before continuing.

"Her Grace was absent whence we arrived, as she could not know that you would be so immediately willing to accompany me to her Court, and is often tied up with lesser affairs. She should be back shortly, and while I am willing to permit your tongue, Miss Tia, she is likely to be rather less accomodating. Her Grace has...concerns relating to her status as compared to those who might wish to usurp her. It can make her less than agreeable at times."

He paces slowly to one of the windows in the throne room, large, thick affairs with spell-carved seals around their edges.

"I would rather avoid interfering with the protections upon this room, but Her Grace has given me enough leniency that if you would rather remain here, I can. However, I much prefer we simply take a walk through the gardens, so that you might contact your mother from a location with no such restrictions upon the use of magic. It will be some time before Her Grace arrives, much to our collective dismay, so the choice is yours."

"Just thought your hair looked soft."

"Hmmm~ It's not like I do anything to it. Just be gentle." Maja gives a little shrug and rests her head on Kyle's lap as he plays with her hair.

"Actually, it can wait. I shall contact her at the end of my stay so that I may convey my experience. May I see your garden now?" she says with a sweet smile.
