Smear some of the black blood on the ring.
Meanwhile, T'skrat mumbles to himself.
'He fight well for dead. Not well enough. He die, like them all.'
A flicker of a frown crossed his face, recalling his past, before he shook it off, and turned to Kerr'tan.
'Heal?'

Kyle frowns at the dead ogre before going over to the merchant.
"Hail there friend."

Jan hunted for a scrap of relatively clean cloth to clean her cutlass blade with. As she wiped off the worst of the bloody mess, she laughed.

"Well, its about time someone took care of those things. Starting to stink up the dock something fierce they were."

Upon seeing the ogre die, Garashn says, Well, you seemed to have cleaned up pretty well without my help.
Walk toward the merchant and listen to his response to Kyle's greeting.

"Hail there friend."
"H-Hail... Sorry, I'm still a bit shaken..."
His eyes widen as he seems to remember something.
"F-Fredrick! Have you seen my brother, Fredrick? He's about my height. Brown hair, blue eyes, a little eccentric? Oh, I hope to Dalah he isn't among the dead..."

Smear some of the black blood on the ring.
As you bend down over the corpse, a deep, bellowing laugh comes from within, catching you off guard, as its jaw moves up and down like a puppet's.
"Good show, good show! I honestly expected the ogre to last longer! You all really are something!"

Stab face. Then continue as before.

'Dead should stay dead!'

"I haven't seen him eitherrr dead orrr alive."

Noticing T'skrat dealing finishing blow once again, Kerr'tan disapprovingly groaned:

"No use rrre-killing what is dead. Its masterrr would still have his way if he wants."

Science is always important. But it needs more flaming cats. Can't we build bridge-based catapults and fling flaming cats at the dust and goo?

It's time for the ATHATH Death Counter to increase once more in celebration for the end of the world.

Stab face. Then continue as before.
Your repeated piercing of its skull does little to affect the voice coming out of it.
"Now now, such ferocity. The ogre is already dead, and will stay that way until midday tomorrow. There's no reason to mutilate its corpse any further. I have a proposition, and I think your merchant friend would like to hear it as well. It concerns Fredrick."
The merchant, upon hearing his brother's name, runs up to the ogre's corpse and kicks it in the head. "What have you done with him you filthy beast?"
"Don't worry, he's safe aboard my ship... for now..."

Seems like a good plan. Seeing as how this is a dock, there should be plenty of fish oil around here.
Go find some fish oil.

Jan rolled her eyes. Landlubbers.

"Ya aren't planning on starting a fire right here, are ya? On the wooden docks with wooden ships and buildings all around? And who knows what these warehouses are filled with? Might burn half the city down. Gonna need a cart to move this thing, so might as well bring it some place proper."

The deep, gravelly voice continues to speak, "I've grown quite bored of these games with simple civilians. I could use some real entertainment for a change. To the northeast, you'll find an island called Reinar. On it's southern coast, there is a cove. The people of the island are too afraid to enter it. They say it's cursed, and that a great demon lives inside. That would be me. If you come to the cove and attempt to rescue the captives I took with me on this little expedition, I will not interfere. However, my minions will not be so... courteous."
The merchant looks furious. "If you hurt Fredrick, I swear..."
"Don't worry, dear boy. Phillip, was it? Ah, yes, Phillip Fitzgerot. Your brother tells me you have powerful friends. Fredrick will not be harmed... At first. I won't kill him, but the longer you take, the more he suffers... The more they all suffer. Make your choice. I'll be waiting with baited breath."
With that, the ogre immediately falls lifeless again, as Phillip angrily kicks it in the head.

At this point, Jerold wanders upon the scene, looking around before hanging his head in mourning. You realize that all the fighting distracted you from the surrounding carnage. The bodies of dozens of sailors and ghouls alike litter the docks, as blood mixes with black ichor and flows into the water. in the distance, the bow of a small sloop slowly sinks to the bottom of the quay, burning timbers cracking apart and sizzling as they hit the water.
Jerold looks forlornly again at the mess, and finally speaks up. "'Tis never good t' see so much blood spilled. They were good men 'n women. Most of 'em were regular customers o' mine..."

"Someone cut off the ogre's arms and legs. It'll still come to life but..."
"Bet if we burned it it'd stay down for good. Anyone know where the nearest crematorium is?"
"I'll get some people t'gether fer a funeral pyre. Let anyone who knew 'em pay their respects. We'll burn th' dead and th' rotters. It's better that way.
