OOC Thread

Welcome to Delamza, a small but growing trading port in the Kainal Islands. For one reason or another, you've ended up here, drinking at The Broken Mast, a rowdy little inn in the Merchant's Square. It's frequented by sailors and merchants of all kinds, and there's never a quiet moment. Forunately, Jerold, the barkeeper, likes it that way. More customers means more coin.
Some of the shadier types prefer to keep to the Rum Slum in the Slums, but Jerold still keeps hired muscle at the door just in case things get rough. Well, rougher than normal. These are sailors we're talking about.

Surprisingly, the inn has reached a relative lull in traffic at the moment. You can actually almost hear yourself think!

Kyle is sitting in a corner quietly tuning his guitar and humming some song or another to himself as he does.

Kerr'tan, still towering over sturdy table despite low bench, was finishing his meal - an array of different seaweed completed with fried vegetables and healthy chunk of bread. Unfortunately for his own body, shal'taka seer was bent on following a vegetarian path if he could help it at the moment.

Garashn is drinking rowdily, as usual. He has a pile of bones on a plate in front of him, from the several pounds of deer meat he recently ate, and a half full tankard of beer in his hand. Despite appearances, he is very careful not to get actually inebriated, although he is often mistaken for being drunk when he is sober.

Wondering why he's the only one being loud, he looks around, noticing how empty the place is.

Hey! Where'd everyone go? he shouts, to nobody in particular.

"It's probably time to earn coin instead of spending it... not that I dislike either."
Kyle says with a tilt of his head and a contemplative strum of his guitar.

Orr-rratherrr somethin' happened. It's less crrrowdy than any otherrr time in thrrree days here", - growled shal'taka, sounding rather angry despite being peaceful and relaxed inside.

Tali Greystone, a Dwarven woman whose head hardly is seen above the table she is sitting at, is carefully polishing a throwing axe and drinking from a mug several sizes too large for her hand, wherein a rich and hot cidery smell floats out. A pile of Dwarven trail rations lies on a plate nearby-the crusts of some heavy Dwarven bread, hard as stone, and a few dozen neatly hollowed out Purple Mushroom caps, the favorite barfood of Dwarven adventurers everywhere.

At the sound of voices, she speaks up in a strong, carrying voice.

"Well, why don't we all pull up a chair and share some news, then-beats getting drunk before noon. Maybe we'll find some solid ground to work on.

Anyone got a whale of a tale to share?"
She inquires, continuing to polish her axe to a mirror sheen.

Kyle shrugs and gets up before going over and sitting at the small woman's table.
"You ever hear a song about a mechanical girl? I could play that for ya."

"Can't say I have-don't have much an ear for music, but let's see what you've got stranger. Names Tali Greystone. Hunter, by trade." Tali says with a charming smile, raising the mug to her lips.

She slides a thick gold coin across the table to the man with her other hand, the sort with a Dwarven kings face on one side, and a trio of fists holding pikes on the other.

Kyle picks up the coin and after looking over both sides nods to himself and sticks it into a pocket.
He begins playing the Mechanical Girl, which I would link if ot wasn't so hard to do on a phone.

Garashn, overhearing this conversation, pushes his way into the discussion with his usual lack of social awareness.
A hunter, eh? I am as well, whether the prey be man or beast.

Turning to the man with the guitar, he says, A mechanical girl? Sounds like a strange tale, but I wouldn't mind hearing it. He, too, tosses a coin onto the table.

((ninja'd. oh well, retroactive conversation FTW))

Kerr'tan absently hummed even after the song reached it's conclusion and accurately passed another coin straight to the singer - not really hard for him, tables being only four feet apart.
"A good morrral in the end, yes. But unnecessarrry destrrruction can't brin' happiness. Even if done forrr a great cause."

Kyle shurgs pocketing the other coins.
"I thought it was good. I'm Kyle by the way. I'm a sailor by trade but I also do some barding when I get the time."

Tali listens to the song thoughtfully, measuring and timing the beats against her own heart.

"...and so will the world end, I think, a victim of love, rather than hate. For love's ever been the more destructive weapon, aye." She says philosophically.
