It's blank! I'm sure it's because you literally just put it up, but I want to watch you build the character!

Also, it's the weekend and I'm going to be way more active here. I've DMed and played a fair amount of 3.5e and I'm about 80% familiar with the difference between it and Pathfinder (although I'm VERY familiar with the various Pathfinder SRD sites, so I can look up things to be sure), so if anyone has questions about mechanics I'll be happy to answer, though I'll of course defer to Nevyn on final say.

I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Gah, Myth-weavers must have logged me out and refused to save my sheet.

Should be fixed now.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Wow. So. Your stats. You're going to die. 2 constitution... You'll have 4 hp at level 1 and will gain an average of 1 hp per level. A stiff breeze will kill you at level 3.

Kudos on somehow getting to 21 wisdom at level 1, though, that's a minmax-y achievement. I don't know if that actually works for a 25-point buy in Pathfinder, though. It looks like it might, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone lower two stats to 5 or lower, plus I can't find any Pathfinder point buy charts that go below 7 or above 18. Also also, I don't know if Nevyn has any "you can't go lower than 3/5/7" rules in place for point buy, but yeah.

Edit: I can't get your point buy to work in Pathfinder or 3.5. *shrug*

Was all aging effects. I wanted to make some sort of elven old man hermit cleric. At Venerable age, the total bonus to mental stats is +3 and the total penalty to physical stats is -6.

I'm playing a concept build here, not a practical one.

On that note, can I dual-wield shields?

Ahhh, I missed the old age.

You can dual wield shields, but the shield AC bonus doesn't stack, so it's only worth it if one has spikes and the other doesn't or if they're magic in different ways.

Edit: Hrm, I still can't get the stats to work.
Code: [Select]
      Base  Race Age  Total
Str:   11    0   -6    5
Dex:   17   +2   -6    13
Con:   10   -2   -6    2
Int:   10   +2   +3    15
Wis:   18    0   +3    21
Cha:   10    0   +3    13
That's what they would have to be, right? But that costs 31 points to buy. Sorry, I'm probably missing something really obvious.

Slings are free and can use just rocks as bullets, so purchasing ammunition is unnecessary.

I've got spare money, so I'll get a crossbow anyway.

----

A second level witch spell lets potions be turned into tattoos. I did, however, miss the fact it has a 500gp cost in special inks, so that is scrapped.

---

Other class is magus.

---

I thought that was show bonus spell slots worked. It's how I did it in the 3.5 games on these forums I layed before and the DMs never said it was wrong.
EDIT: I see, changed to get rid of those spells.

---

Third cantrip chosen.

Should be fine now?

You CAN use rocks in slings, but they'd do 1d3 damage instead of 1d4 and you'd get a -1 to hit with them. Totally still feasible to use rocks, and the point's moot since you swapped it out anyway, but yeah.

Err, that's not how bonus spells work in 3.5 either, but if that's how they did it then that's how they did it.

EDIT: OH hey there's apparently a new thing in the first post that added traits we can pick from! Either that or I missed it when I checked last, which is entirely likely.

I believe stats start at 10 and you get 25 additional points, for a total of 37.

Ah, so, point buy doesn't mean you get to add 25 more points. Each ability score (stat) point you buy costs a certain number of points and it's not a 1-to-1 conversion. If you check out the second section here (link) it'll show you how much each point costs. There's a calculator there too, so you can play around with it in real time.

Uh, ok. Your stats are just too high for 25 point buy.

Point Buy Results:

Str: 10
Dex: 17
Con: 10
Int: 10
Wis: 18
Cha: 10

=10 base plus 25 points

Racial Adjustments: +2 Dex (19), +2 Int (12), -2 Con (8)

Age Adjustments: +3 Wis (21), +3 Int (15), +3 Cha (13), -6 Str (4), -6 Dex (13), -6 Con (2)

The "10 base" means stats start at 10. Boosting one stat to 17 costs 13 of your point buy points. Boosting another to 18 costs 17 of your point buy points. Those two, together, total 30, which is more than the 25 point budget.

Edit: Sorry if I'm coming off as aggressive on this. I should let Nevyn do the character sheet checking.
