I've played before. Fun times, lots of welts. I played with my brother and his friends a few times, and in another case my oldest brother joined in as well.
One game, after already going a round, and having been shot before (about 3 times in a row when I was changing cover; hurt like hell), I managed to dodge fire again when changing cover and was ducking away before taking a shot. Well, before I could start taking a shot, someone from the other team jumped into the same pit I was in (we were fighting in a woodland area); seeing me in the pit, they thought I was shot and sitting out or something, after they asked me if I was shot, I turned my gun on them and fired away.
Landed about 5 shots into them before I was fired back on and shot in the foot on the way out. Still one of the best kills I've made in a game of paintball.
Fortunately, a recent co-worker has the means to play a game, and has invited me to play whenever a game is setup. And especially after doing the kind of work we do (mostly carpet and tile cleaning with the occasional house cleaning; plenty of heavy equipment, and mold remidiation requires demolition of walls and floors and such (and mind you, tile is heavy)), I've actually built up a bit of stamina (a generally lacking quality of mine) and overall strength to maybe take more shots, just in case someone decides to vote in Ironman Mode (1-3 shots =/= kill. Instead, you last until you pass... out. In other words, get shot 'til you drop.).
