Well, I only chose it because I didn't know where to start and thought it would make some sense.
Can't exactly become a paladin by being raised in an orphanage. Or the streets. Well.. Maybe in some cases, but It would not make sense to me.

Ok, I'm working on a second-level quest after ditching a rather goofy and weird idea for a second level quest. (The original idea was to have you ascend a tower made of dust and fight a wizard who makes dust monsters. The whole thing was basically an elaborate ruse to get you to do something creative like blow on the tower as opposed to fighting your way through twenty levels of twenty minions a pop.)
The new quest sees you fighting goblins as you try to stop them from raiding a town dry.

Your first level quest has you pitted against a dungeon with kobolds or goblins or rooms of 5 level two gnolls or the like, in search of some really pathetic quest artifact that'll probably make some meager joke about the original second-level quest.

Uhm.. Are you as a DM, telling us stuff we should probably now know yet?

What I meant was, why are you telling us what we are going to fight against before we even meet them?

You've heard rumors. That's all. Your characters heard rumors about this kind of stuff. How some lord is looking for old stuff in ruins and how there's a goblin crisis in a nearby village.

Problem averted.

In the meantime I'll get something completely unexpected to put you against. Or maybe I'll do what you would otherwise expect me to do to throw you off. Or maybe I'll do something unexpected to throw you off again.

Okay, I think this should be functional. It's missing fluff like background info, but that can wait until later. I also changed her feat from Improved Monk Unarmed Strike to Deadly Draw - most of her attacks deal more damage than a simple unarmed strike anyway, and with her chosen Flurry of Blows she'll get a lot more use from Deadly Draw.

Was I the only one who took a theme and a background?

Well, I chose a background, but I don't think anyone raised in a monastery would have a title.

Shit, I'm second guessing myself with my character... Should I stick with the infernal pact (easier to use, more beefy, works well in RP, con focused) or go with a Star Pact instead (ridiculous possibilities in the distant future, multiple types of damage, SICK pact boon, tricky to use, cha or con based)?
