Yeah pretty much. I'm not knowledgable enough to play the sci-fi genre entirely straight.

I was just going to pretend you could do all the things a normal person could do. Rather than penalizing you as if you're actually a bunch of kittens its far easier and way more entertaining if we just pretend that they work together to maintain a thin guise (there's got to be a trope for this). So, if we just go with the two actions per turn thing, the cyber still gives you a special ability, I don't have to do anything wildly different to make your character work, and you still get to be a bunch of kittens pretending to be a space man. c:

And for God's sake, if the psychic kittens can generate an illusion making her look like a young woman then they can also make meows turn into English. We'll also assume that they're of average intelligence and have the basic knowledge anyone else in their role would have. Because of their infiltration training, implants, however you want to rationalize it I don't care.
I really would prefer to play the character that I designed, rather than a girl wearing kitty ears. I didn't want a disguise in the first place, and now you're asking for me to remove everything that makes the character unique, using the disguise that I still don't like and ignores the basic physical limitations of my character as an excuse to do so. Could I please play my character instead of a parody of it? You gave me orders to hide my differences, and now you're removing everything that makes me different, so I might as well just be playing the character that you're ordering me to pretend my character is, and that isn't someone that I want to play.

besides, trying to picture kittens holding each other into a human shape with thumbs that takes up wayyyy more volume than they comprise while they don't remotely have the strength or leverage to hold each other up like that is utterly destroying my sense of immersion.


actually, no, the simpler solution is for me to just opt-out. I've only got 9 days left, and at the rate you're updating, it doesn't matter how this is resolved anyway, I'm not going to be here for more than one more turn. There's no point in fighting over this. Out.

If your game is still running when I come back, we can hash this out then.

You don't have a disguise then, everyone can just deal with you being kittens. Not like they can or would want to do anything about it as long as you're useful. I'm trying to work with you on this Lenglon, I'm sorry. The only thing I'm super against is the eight actions thing, no matter how balanced it is.

Most of the time, like this one, my actions are going to be grouped. There's no need to roll for eight of them when I do that. Or even roll for every action.

this time my actions:
6 are searching cabinets: (either one roll with a modifier due to how many are searching, or the action is roll-less - depending on how you're handling checking cabinets)
1 is pressing buttons (one computer use roll)
1 is watching someone else (rollless action)

They're all in the same room too.

so... I don't understand what the problem is. This is one or two rolls, and not a complicated or individualized description - basically what do I find in the cabinets, how does pressing the buttons go, and what did the person that I'm watching do? (which you can simply tell me that I saw what he did on his turn, and I try to read everyone's turns anyway) Also, feel free to penalize me for having a divided attention when I'm doing totally different things at the same time, incentivizing me to minimalize the number of different actions that I take.

I get it that if I'm mean and scatter into all parts of the ship and planet and start asking about everything I see everywhere it would be a MASSIVE problem for you, but I have zero intentions of doing anything of the kind. I want it to be an option for the very rare case where it matters, but I don't plan on exercising it normally.

What about in combat? You'd be able to attack the same target eight times.

And even if I did assign you permanent penalties to fix the whole 8 actions thing, it would still be unfair because you'd end up rolling below zero more often than not.

Yah we've solved that successfully. I'll need to fix a thing or two in your sheet but it shouldn't be a problem. Just edit your latest action according to the new rules we came up with and we can move on.

I don't think I knew what I wanted out of this game. Its dead. Someone else can take over if they like, don't see why though. Its rather unremarkable.
