We don't need all this shit. The ship isn't huge, the only crew are you players, the smaller it is the easier it is for everyone, and the more sense it makes as a mass produced discovery ship.

So let's group these into similar categories.

 * Cryo stasis pods                               >Dorms. Cryo pods double as bunks to save space. Food making/eating area is seperated by a good amount of space.

 * Medical facilities                               >Lab isn't extensive. Limited to secure containment for various organic and inorganic specimens in the form of special containers located in a storage area. There is also a teleporter. More on that later. Specimen storage is a secure room separate from the lab proper, which is the medical bay.

 * Bridge
 * Observation lounge
 * Sensor Rooms                                   >Command and Control (CnC) is the observation room. The Ops console manages things like sensors and external cameras, as well as comms. There is a Pilot's Cradle for manual flight. There is a systems terminal here for diagnosing problems with the ship.
 
 * Cargo bays
 * Shuttle bays
 * Escape pods
 * Airlocks/Docking bays                                              >Holds. This is where cargo and most other kit goes. This is also where the main airlock is for landing and embarking. If you need a mental image imagine the hangar in the Deathstar, except not so freaking tall and much wider. You guys have a pair of shuttles that are entry capable. There aren't any escape pods.

 * Armory                                                                                 >Preparation. This is where your null suits are, as well as exoskeletons and maneuvering gear. Weapons are also here. If you need to make repairs outside the ship there are also cutters and other tools.

 * Engine room
 * Maneuvering thrusters
 * Production/manufacturing area
 * Weapon/shield/, or are these in engineering?                      >Engineering. This is where the TriCore is. You've got three separate cores linked by corridors and a large cooling system. Core1 is the Fusion Reactor, used to engage FTL and also as the primary means of propulsion and maneuvering. Core2 is the reserve Nuclear Reactor which powers most of the ship and can be used to provide extra propulsion in an emergency, should Core1 malfunction or the vessel requires a burst of speed. Core3 is where the AI is housed. There is a systems terminal here for diagnosing problems with the ship. There are assorted tools here for general maintenance.

Meh. I never really liked her. I mean of course she's not very likable she's actually pretty likable from an observer standpoint. She's not very evil either.

if I must select a version of murderOS, then I'll vote for HAL, as the most thematically appropriate.

But.. but....actively being plotted against by a murderous AI is a part of the !!FUN!! D:

Really its just a choice for their general tone while tossing in a fun cameo. They might be threatening once in a while but that's the extent of their murderousness, unless someone breaks into Core3 and tries removing their inhibitors. :o

Who should the AI be?

CABAL wanted to exterminate biological life, and enhanced itself by cannibalizing human minds. AM hated humanity and nearly succeeded in genocide.

Hal really enjoyed working with people and was simply trying to do his job, but was given incompatible orders, and in the process of trying to reconcile them ended up killing not even the entire crew of a single ship...some of them only in self defense. And then even after all this he sacrificed himself and his mission to save the lives of other humans.

I vote Hal.

If I have to pick one of the three, I'd choose AM.
Otherwise, I'd choose something from Megaman. Propably Dr. Light.
EDIT: He was an AI in Megaman X, if that counts.

Almost threw Shodan in there, because she was one of the first to occur to me, but I forgot when the time came and ended up replacing her with AM.

If I let OTHER remain an option I don't think the vote will ever get done.. Too many cool AIs! D: Though HAL's far more of a bastard than Bucket is letting on I think. His dickishness was on a much smaller scale than the other two so that's understandable I suppose. Either that or I fell asleep during Space Odyssey, but I remember him killing four different people because they discussed shutting him down in the case that he was indeed in error about... Something..

But anyway you shouldn't be voting based on how evil they were. That's clearly an attempt at gaming since you're obviously figuring LESS EVIL IN THEIR UNIVERSE=LESS BULLSHIT IN THIS ONE, which is totally natural. But its just a vote for tone and appearance, he'll do everything possible to help you dudes out.
