Why is four so bad? It's the second-lowest square, and adding its square root to itself makes it.
It sounds like ' death' in Chinese.

Which is why someone should choose 44.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Why is four so bad? It's the second-lowest square, and adding its square root to itself makes it.

As far as single digit numbers go, four is fairly boring.  It's even, and small, not a prime number, and it's a little annoying to count with.  Which is exacerbated by the fact that it's just below five, a nice practical number.

But probably the most important reason is that I count in binary when I count with my fingers.  A finger being up is 1, down is 0.  Try counting to four on one hand in binary.

1. Why are odd numbers superior?
2. There are only two single-digit squares. I'd say that, in 4's neighborhood, being a prime number isn't much of an achievement. And five is overrated.
3. It's not that hard to hold up a ring finger.:P

How can you count on a hand, and have a finger being down as 0?

Binary
0 = 0000 0000
1 = 0000 0001
2 = 0000 0010
3 = 0000 0011
4 = 0000 0100

now then, which finger is up for the number four?

@GWG
1.Because I don't like even numbers as much as odd ones
2.But that's only because squares get big fast.  And every number can be squared.
3.Who counts on their hands without using their thumbs?

@Sean
See Lenglon's post. Just add two spaces.

@Lenglon
How do you typically display five with your hands?

3. For Americans, at least, the index finger is one, the middle finger and index finger makes two, add the ring finger for three, pinky makes four, and the thumb is the fifth.
Also, I wasn't entirely serious.

You are missing my point. Both of you, in fact.

How the hell do you count on a hand by starting from a closed fist? From my earliest years, whenever I needed to count on a hand, I started from an open palm and bent fingers down for every digit. The opposite I only ever seen used by boxing referees, as a means of counting and pointing at once.
