Don't tell anyone you are a cheesemaker. Pretend to be a cook brewer.

It's a lot easier to fake being a brewer. Skilled brewers are just faster than unskilled ones. Skilled cooks produce better food.

Also, realise with shock and horror that the elf has been brainwashing you in order to bend you to his will. Be glad that he is dead now.[/color]

Elf sympathising is a sure sign of moral degeneration, Urist! And you know what we do with degenerates...

Exactly. Which is why Misty needs to stop being both as fast as possible.

She may lie for now, but she will not betray her inner cheesemaker. It would be the saddest thing ever if misty changed her whole life plan just to conform to being another fortress drone.

She does not have to stop being a cheesemaker deep inside her soul, she just has to stop being an elf-lover and be a brewer on the outside instead.

Throw a tantrum due to "horror at seeing a deceased sentient being" when you really just want to break something (or someones neck).

Datan Ritas translates to "Iron Owl".

I didn't forget, IronOwl! You got your dwarf.

> If asked, claimed your an engraver interested in learning about cheesemaking; it seems like these people are pretty serious about having skilled laborers around, and you're technically a dabbling engraver from drawing on your wall, right? In a fortress as mature as Shielddawn, it's not like there's going to be a massive engraving project going on anywhere right? So you'll most certainly be free to study with the experts on cheesemaking that are most definitely going to be found somewhere. Once you're good enough to produce results, you'll be able to ply your trade without fear of the crazy fortress guards who are almost certainly loose cannons and not representative of the entire fortress!

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.
But the sad truth charlie?
It was inevitable.

Pretend to be an engraven and a brewer, who "likes cheese for its roundness."

Recognise the elf's mind games for what they were.

Actually, you don't mind the Elves.. especially not..  that one..
Just don't reveal anything about your real feelings for now.
Just play along with the elf genocide for now. Call dibs for that particular elf's belongings.
(Maybe even get some kind of information from them or something?)
Geez, what manner crazy place have you gotten yourself into?
