If the dwarves have a thanksgiving like celebration, what would they eat?  Prepared dog spleen?

Elk bird.  Delicious, delicious elk bird.

My dwarves usually eat turkey all year anyway.

"That'll do, recruit."

The first one is always the hardest.

Wheee for update.

Is it bad I kept looking for the second "That'll do"?

Reg: name your sword.

Perhaps we should think of a name ourselves, first.

Actually people who have produced many masterwork items don't stress out too much over just one being destroyed.
But he is separated from his daughter. And upset at inadequate fortress guard lately.

That last update was splendid.  Superb leadership by Holt too.

I feel addicted to this story now-I read through all of it between yesterday morning and now.

Reg, become at LEAST novice with that sword. And at least a Master armor-user for that helmet use. Holt, start looking for a way out. Preferably using what's left of that night whatever.
I just wish my adventurers could take on something like that...

Why is nobody posting anything about the Shielddawn scene that happened like 50 pages or more ago? Unless I missed something, that plot line hasn't had an update since.

I'm sure we'll return to the main plot-line in due time :)    I must admit I'm looking forward to it too though.

Reg: Start sobbing. Be cuddled.
Holt: Once done consoling, look for a way out.

She already is. A close examination of the last image shows that they are embracing, him comforting her. It is really a wonderful bit of fine detail.

I think with the fade-out, it is time to return to our little friend the cheesemaker, who is discovering the lovely reception of a dwarven fortress. Indeed, it would seem that this fortress is to be much of what a player would operate, as opposed to the mountainhome and its more AI setup. Alas, poor misty, we knew her cheese well.

This update was great.

It would have been even greater if Reg said "damn kobolds" but it is good.
