Maybe if golf comes back as an Olympic sport we could do well there too. I'm not holding my breath regarding football though.

Ah yes, that debacle. Another modern-day Flodden. I'll just hold out hope for an independent Welsh rugby team.

Who knows though, maybe if Andy Murray is still in the game when we become independent we could pursue some Olympic golds in tennis. Provided he doesn't bottle it of course.

In other news, the curling was awesome today, with the UK team dishing out a beating to the USA, setting a record equalling points total of 12, and a new record of the most points in an end, of 7.

I also muchly enjoyed the ladies slopestyle final, despite one of the Canadian ladies badly landing a jump on a big kicker, with stiff legs and bent back, and it looked like she hit her head. Hopefully the poor individual was not too horribly hurt.

The UK managed to beat the US at sweeping and pushing a rock on ice. I'm sure most americans are incensed.

Today was a good day for Belarus - we won three medals today: gold and bronze in biathlon (by Darya Domracheva and Nadezhda Skardino) and gold in freestyle skiing (by Alla Tsuper). My country's Olympic team have got four medals so far, the previous one was gold that was also won by Darya Domracheva in biathlon.
Right now we have more gold medals than Russia - they have only two. Russians have 5 silver and 5 bronze medals, though.

I'm pleasantly surprised by Belarusian Olympic team's performance: Belarusian biathlonist Darya Domracheva won her third gold medal at the women's 12 km biathlon race today, plus Belarusian freestyle skier Anton Kushnir also won gold.

Russia is apparently on the first place in the medal tally, with 11 golds, 10 silvers and 8 bronzes.

Well, I'm pretty happy our sportsmen acquitted the funds, efforts and beliefs that were put in them by our people and government.

Apparantly this was the best Winter Olympics in Dutch history.

Yay I guess?
