And Finland takes Bronze in hockey, beating USA with a fairly ridiculous 5-0 score! Fitting send-off to Selänne (who scored 2 of those), as this was his last tournament. That was a wonderful match. Now we only need to see Canada beat the hated Swedes for the gold.

*Compared to this and other matches, it was terrible play - I suspect the national traumas from always being bullied by you bastards - so it's a surprise we did as well as we did.

When Norway won some biathlon races earlier, some Russians claimed that the Norway Olympic committee bribed the anti-doping authorities before the Games in order to get their sportsmen classified as suffering from chronic asthma, thus allowing them to take clenbuterol (an asthma medication used as a dope by sportsmen and bodybuilders) before the races.

Also, Russia has just won the 50 km skiing marathon, sweeping the first three places. Norway is the fourth, Belarus is the fifth.

I hope you're cheering for Sweden in the hockey finals now. With Canadian referees, we might need a little extra wellwishes. As if the referees wasn't unfairly biased towards Canada in the first place

Earlier today, one of the people in charge of the opening ceremony, Konstantin Ernst, was dressed in a 4 rings shirt at a press conference.
