Yay turn!  My turn is incoming in this slot.  However, I think your forgot my research ebbor?

An encoded message was recently received by the Hologian Navy:
"Greetings.  Our firm, Pax Shipping & Receiving, Inc., can offer effective fighter ships for use against the Nemean Empire and associated satellite organizations at a deferred price.  All ships have functions to prevent accountability (active cloaking) for easy proxy wars.  Glory to the Hologian Confederation.  How shall we begin?  We are prepared to sell our first ship, a highly maneuverable fighter packed with firepower, the Y1 Surveyor, for a low 11,000 credits.  Ask us about our anti-fighter ships (great for defending military convoys) and receive a small discount on orders containing both crafts!"

And a similar one was received by the Nemean Navy;
"Greetings again.  In response to your need for an anti-fighter craft, we have designed the Z1 Diplomatic Craft.  It is a heavily armored anti-fighter craft that also works great as an extremely powerful, mobile vanguard on the cyberware front.  As a point-defense solution, the ship simply ensures that no fighter that approaches it will get past.  Whether that is due to a face full of laser or a sudden malfunction in their life-support capabilities (or both) is up to you.  No other ship on the market, including those offered by our competitor Katavis, has these capabilities.  We are confident that this ship can defend against at least twice as many fighters as any other craft, making it highly economical.  Glory to the Nemean Empire.  We are prepared to offer this craft for 15,000 credits.  We will be in touch."

What are my options for physical defense against military actions that don't involve purchasing crafts from other players?

And what's with the "target eliminated" message for Monolith?

You know what, 10ebbor, I changed my mind. Why risk failure in a proven design when I can redesign next turn(as well as design something else thanks to my upgraded design studio)? As I can tell from the ship performance blurb, the Valkyries are currently in the lead for the contract because of the success they've been having on piracy patrols, so I'll just send a message guaranteeing 10 years warranty on all purchased and future Valkyries to sweeten the deal(as well as discounted upgrades throughout the individual ship's service life).(Naturally, battle damage and destruction is specifically exempted from the warranty, otherwise I'd go out of business in short order giving them free replacements after each dust-up!)

Instead, I'll finish the fusion drive research and mod the Freya with it, and expand my original message to the League with the capabilities of the new drive system(as well as build a prototype for them to try out)

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

BTW guys, if anyone needs homing missiles, those are for sale. Either tech barter or  Ж15 000.

Hmmm, I can do you one better UR. I'm pretty sure you could use better propulsion systems for your ships, so I'll offer a license for my pulse-fusion engines in exchange for a license for your missiles.

Also, I've come up with a better name for my freighter: The Jotunn class freighter(I'm reserving Freya for another ship idea that comes to mind)

Heh, I see. Valkyres with better propulsion systems and missiles... someone will dominate fighters market.
I accept the offer

I suggest you to do one turn post and edit it, much easier for the GM then "I do that, no I do that, no I do that" Plus splitting your action in several posts is a bad idea

Good idea.

BIG BOLD NOTE FOR GM CONVENIENCE:THIS SUPERSEDES ALL MY PREVIOUS ACTIONS THIS TURN

Starting off, finish pulse-fusion engine research. Designate the current freighter design as the Jotunn, quickly modify it with the new engines, and market it to the Havitak League for 24,000 with the following message:

"Frex Shipyards Ltd is proud to announce our newest ship, the Jotunn freighter. With advanced pulse-fusion propulsion, it is the fastest freighter in space, allowing for time-sensitive and perishable goods to be delivered to the farthest reaches of space. With a huge cargo capacity, it can haul large amounts of goods, as well as the option for installation of self-defense turrets of your choice allow for it to operate even in the most hostile sectors. Secure your future(and wealth!) with the Jotunn!"

Also, aggressively pursue the fighter contract by offering extended support for the Valkyries, including discounted upgrades to all ships as well as an extended limited warranty(excludes battle damage and destruction)

Finally, transmit a license to produce fusion engines to Loer in exchange for a license to produce missiles

Attempt to reduce the production cost of the Helios (new cargo ship) and then sell it on the general market for Ж13,000 per ship.
Spoiler: Helios Sales Pitch (click to show/hide)
Also increase the production facilities size (-Ж10,000) and finalise FTL power consumption reduction research (-Ж15,000)

Anyone have a defensive solution they can sell me with no strings attached?

Also: does this mean you are going to have to sue tryrar, Taricus?  I can only assume that weaponized porn will be involved in some fashion.   :P

Nah, it's only customer service. I don't mind that being on the upswing really. Though depending on a few things, I might be bringing down the hammer lawyers on some poor bastard.

Well, perhaps not usable ones.  I believe ebbor said that there are courts in the game world, but they are not a part of the game mechanics.  And you can't really use lawyers without courts outside of sending very stern letters, as far as I know.
