Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Dooops.

Kick him square in the chest, propelling us apart!  5 ki, because it'd be nice to kick him off the edge while I'm at it.
(Yes, there will be perma-death. As is standard in basically everything I do.)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Systar swings his legs up, coiling his knees against his chest before jerking his entire body straight in a double footed kick straight to Ivan's chest. Ivan attempts to muscle through the blow. This results in Systar flying through the air, flipping a few times and landing on his feet several hundred feet away and Ivan being punted straight through the overpass and into the traffic below.  A Large part of the overpass bridge collapses down on top of him a moment later leaving him buried in rubble a good 30 feet down from where he started.

Check the second spoiler, near the bottom.

Did you think that frail, normal humans would be fighting like this? Nah, it takes more then that to kill us. Though he did knock a good chunk of ki out of me, which means I'm easier to injure.

Plus, that mistake cost me- I spent 5 ki breaking his lock.  In fairness, the high expenditure resulted in a rather successful attack, but it wasn't without cost.

I'm assuming the 7 ki for 70 pool is actually fairly high, purely for the purposes of this test?  How does meditation work?

Assuming it's safe (you've got to break out of that rubble and get up to me) Meditate this turn.

The ki for starting characters will probably be more around 30.

Meditation works by giving you 1d10 worth of ki back for each turn it's active. While you do it you're sitting in place, eyes closed, completely concentrated and as such, completely open.

You gain back 8 ki!

The rubble doesn't move, but you can sense energy gathering beneath it.

Noted.  I take it Ivan took the same choice?

Let's see... I have the upper ground, he has the advantage of being under rubble.  Let's increase his advantage.

Cleave off some chunks of freeway down onto him. 3 ki because I'm a bit noodle armed.

You raise your blade into the air, all ready to slice a big chunk of the overpass off and drop it down on Ivan's head. Before you can swing, the rubble explodes and Ivan rockets out, streaking straight toward you, trailing pulverized concrete and debris. He swings his arm back, fist coated in a visible, glowing corona of pure ki.
