A quick glance at the stats of the worst (heavy bleeding or worse) and least effected (headache or less) indicates maaaybe End and probably not Mind; more than half of those worst affected (Dubley Jobaiso Judas Alex Ben Ian Kai) had +1 or better Mind.  Of the five least affected (Lars Flint Yancey Vanessa Taddok) three have +1 End or better and two have +1 Fate or better.  For the record, three have +1 Mind or better too.  Lots of people with positive Mind on this mission, really.

That thing went for the head first, so it's probable that neural strengthening gene mod I had at least helped a bit, since it also protects from physical damage (or at least that's how I understand its description).

Heh. That does make me wonder... Will they have to deal with any strange fashion or customs, like everyone speaking in rhyme or everyone dressing like cartoon characters (or maybe even a cult that thinks they are cartoons trapped in human bodies) or something like that?
I don't think any of them asked about the culture of the place, but I imagine a place as big as that and as rich as that  that gets so many immigrants will have some very strange mixes of cultures and fashions.

It was a discordant sound which affected some and left others with no clue what was happening, so it seems like it wasn't physical in nature, though its effects were at least in part physical.

Seems like some of the minds in Cuthukan would've been stunned while others wouldn't. Though if it's endurance then Cuthukan would've been fine.
