confirming Ben neutron for mission 22

Updated roster:

Lars (Toaster)                             confirmed
Vanessa Anagrid (Xantalos)         confirmed
Tek (Nunzillor)                            confirmed
Dubley Steptimus (NAV)              confirmed
Yancy Hargraves (tryrar)              confirmed
Taddok Find (Hapah)                   confirmed
Flint Westwood (Parisbre56)        confirmed
Jobasio Hootzal (Yoink)               confirmed
Lyra Arden (Lenglon)                  confirmed
Elias Shrike (AkumaKasai)          confirmed
Judas Smythe (Persus13)            confirmed
Kai Branden (Dutrius)                 confirmed
Ian Smith (HavingPhun)             confirmed
Catten Vilcorius (Detoxicated)
Ben Neutro (bcneuf)

Remember, you are not going on the mission until you confirm IC! Detoxicated, bcneuf, you know what to do

Also, @fusion: if you guys wanna be on a mission, it'l be best if you all agree on what to do and come out with a single voice. Remember, you gotta apply and confirm to the conditions ic, and Miya for one won't take something that's constantly contradicting and arguing with itself.

About the fusion: you guys keep all of your inventories, including the ones of the dead peeps, right? If not, claiming whatever is left for the team fund.

You, uh, are supposed to do that IC. I'll add you as confirmed anyway, but try to do it IC as well if you can?

@shaporia: do you actually not know what the requirements are, or are you just playing it out IC?

I actually didn't know until I realized there was a mission briefing link, just read over it. I now know ICly and OOCly. Still willing to join if it's still possible.

I find Zayne's death ironic, body consumed by the Haebi, revived, then subsequently consumed by another group-mind thing.
Cosmic horror and cosmic irony tend to go hand in hand around here.

Will they be able to use their suits? I figure, with an addition of two feet height (300 lbs isn't dense for eight feet btw: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Wadlow) they might not.

Quote from: calculator.net Ideal Weight Calculator
Based on the Robinson formula (1983), your ideal weight is 265.4 lbs
Based on the Miller formula (1983), your ideal weight is 235.8 lbs
Based on the Devine formula (1974), your ideal weight is 292.8 lbs
Based on the Hamwi formula (1964), your ideal weight is 320.1 lbs
Based on the healthy BMI recommendation, your recommended weight is 242.5 lbs - 327.7 lbs
Good point.

600lbs then.

I can't seem to find it, but wasn't there some big heavy suit of armor on the wiki before? Protectorate Suit or somethin' like that?
We used to have something like that (13-ish tokens, IIRC), but I think it eventually lost the battle of usefulness to new cheap Milnoplate and newer cheap assaultsuits.
Which reminds me: I have to update Milnoplate entry on the wiki. Full Milnoplate costs 10 tokens now (and that one is comparable closest to the Protectorate Armor); the lighter variant suited for flight costs 8 tokens.

While standing in the Rec room? With Maurice looking from the video-call in the briefing room? Well, sure you can wave all you want! :P

Jesus christ, I just noticed something. Harry's chars have now ALL either interacted with or become part of abominations against nature(Timmy, Stacy, and now Chief.) I know who NOT to stand next to now...

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Technically all of mine have too, it's just that it's all Xan.
I suppose if I ever made another guy he'd end up worse.

Alright, the following equipment has been Piecewise-approved for the anomaly exploration mission:
Per-character:
  • standard 10-ft. poles, several
  • food supplies (suit-feeding stuff or robot-food-stuff) for at least a couple weeks
  • nuts/bolts for throwing
  • rope and duct-tape
  • extra cameras, installed on suits (only for fleshies; robots already have extra cameras)
  • a can of spraypaint
  • local dictionaries (electronic, uploaded to suits/robo-bodies)
  • artifact containers, new
  • a knife
Mission equipment:
  • a crate of light-source equipment (lightropes, lamps, lightsticks, etc.)
  • two cans of medifoam
  • an emergency kit
  • 1-kiloton 'clean' nuke of Simus's design (set to explode if we all die)

I'll introduce it to characters later ICly, probably, but that's it for now.

That reminds me, what gear do you think would be a good idea for my charracter to grab? Normally, I would assume standard weapons for my skill focus, but with an anomaly being the mission, I'm not too sure.

@Execute/Dumbo.exe Hmmm, +1 Uncon/+1 GenKno...

MFM is always a good pick. Then again, a Mk II MCP-II is always a good pick too, unless you want to go robot or are saving up for a Mk III (less of an issue with 3-token MCP-II than 5-token Mk II). Both cost 3 tokens, so unless you find a place to borrow one, you'd have trouble with taking both. CamEyes are generally a good purchase, but they won't help you to survive in a way a weapon or a better suit would.
Tesla saber is a more expensive variant, but very useful nonetheless, if a bit old. Just make sure not to repeat Feyrie's mistakes from M6. Kin amps are fairly common, but slightly bit overused and more justified with 'heavier'/'stronger' characters rather than newbies. A monoatomic-filament razor is very very cost efficient, if that suits your style.
And finally, if you really want to be original and possibly very useful for the mission, you could take some Aster-Ex. A single one-kiloton nuke can only get so much done, where there might come time of need for controlled demolitions. Or 1/8th kiloton nuke if you feel like going big.  ;)
