Would he even know IC where it is?

Hey Hapah, did you ever announce in-game where the deathcube is or that Taddok has it?

The services were posted on the player market, and I'm pretty sure they were offered prior to its stationing with Nyars, so I don't think that's an unreasonable assumption.

Its current location, though, is another story.

Yeah i kinda imagine the player market as a bulletin board in the rec room or something and just kinda treat everything on it as public knowledge.

IC its just process of elimination:
Is it in the testing spot? No.
Did i see him carrying it when we were in the hangar? No.
Is it in his room? If yes, found it. Provided i find his room.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

The last one is likely to be the real kicker.

Im an aux specialist with a computer controlled laser rifle hap, if i can figure out which room is yours chances are i can get in. :P

The question is, do i try?

I don't think you understand quite how the rooms work. In order to get into his room (without the ID/Password, which he could send you and/or you could randomly guess), you'd need to hack a Sword system, and we know how supportive Steve has been in the pass about people hacking the Sword. The sleeping quarters is not just a series of rooms you can wander around and break into. It's more like a vending machine :P

Yeah, if it's on the player market, then you can assume you know IC. Kri's right though, without his room number, you'll need to check each one manually.

Well, it stands to reason that if it's not where the business was conducted before, it is likely in the locker. And now that the personal rooms supersede the personal lockers, looking there is also reasonable. Furthermore, by nature of how PW regarded the password setup ("don't tell your password anyone! do it in secret!"), I don't think that intruding upon another person's territory is considered an offence by Steve - one guards his room by making it unknown.

Now, however, as the number is unknown this time (I presume), it would probably require some hacking done to find it out... and now that might be electro-frowned upon by Steve. Just sayin'.

In other words, [AUX:5] probably isn't enough.

I did say if...

And the extent of my hacking probably wouldnt be all that intrusive, just bringing up a list of all rooms that have been claimed.
Hell, i may not even need to hack. I could probably just ask steve which rooms i cant claim for myself and work from there.

I wonder if the regular crew also gets one of these rooms, and if those would be connected to our system.

And if Steve has a basic understanding of information security, his answer is "I can't do that, Dave."

Though it is really funny how many login systems don't understand how much information their error messages give away. :P

Sods should probably have multiple commanders and different codes for different groups. That way, if someone manages to get a hold of a commander's voice sample and cracks their codes, they won't gain control of all sods, only a relatively small group. Because having them all controlled by one person with one set of codes is like using one password everywhere. Steve is a super advanced organic computer, so he could probably alter his voice if he wanted, thus making himself a great "master key" for the sods. We could use voice alerting software to the same effect for human commanders if we wanted, but it would probably be better to not give all the voice samples to everyone, it would be better to only give a small number of those samples to each commander.

Not on my Sods you don't >:C The suicide squad needs no such insurances, they'll all be dead before one is required.

Sure, not talking about that. You can have whatever you want on your sods. I'm talking about the sods in our ARMy.

Eh, I think Steve has probably already thought of that to be honest otherwise it is very unlikely that ARM would've made it this far if he looked over something that dangerous :v
