@Comrade_P: You know, you could probably buy yourself a suit of Sharkmist for the same money as a CD longcoat (it's already prototyped, so I think AM would be fine with 'conjuring' it). Or hell, just buy the cam-eyes and hope for the best.

Sharkmist would be great. If I could have eye prosthetics and this, that would probably be enough for me, I would save myself two tokens.
Sharksuits are prototype gear I think, and we had a stock of 2. I know at least one was used, but I cant remember if the other one was handed out
Three sharksuits were shipped, and all were taken for testing.
Aaaand they are all taken. Nevermind then.
Comrade P., don't give up that easily!

Pfft, yes, those three are taken! But hey, what did I suggest in the first place? Asking the AM for it. Specifically because she already conjures most of our equipment on the Sword anyway - and the sharksuit schematics/production details are all figured out by this moment, as their prototypes exist.
(Which is the same for any 'prototype' equipment currently prototyped-but-not-supplied, anyway - MCP-II someone purchased earlier also came from thin air apparently (the 'regular' prototypes were all on the mission already) and no one is bothered by that. That's the great benefit for us ordinary 'Corpspeople having the AM on board of the Sword - she can help with exceptions, and getting pretty much finished equipment for its token price just a mission ahead of it being stocked and supplied en masse is one good exception we can thank her for.)

In short: go ask the AM regardless. If she declines - well, you can get your soon-to-be-obsolete CD longcoat; but I'd bet she (or Piecewise, for that matter) wouldn't even notice any problem with that as long as the schematics and production processes are worked out (read: item in question approved, prototyped) and the price is known.
And even if the schematics/processes had not yet been worked out... she might still have supplied one with the requested item, if only at a higher price (see: old-style prototyping).

Oh, that. This is is why I asked, in fact, I saw that people were mostly just inactive, but not dead. Was confused. Got clarified.

-snip-

Allright. I'll ask for it, why not. I'm losing nothing.

*mugs comrade the second hes given the suit*

For science of course.

Speaking of science, can anyone tell me the minimum number of levelups required to get two skills to +4?
With and without genemods and such.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Starting with 0's and no gene mods, 20 levelups.

If you had +2 to both at creation and used enhanced capacity gene mod to one of those, it would be 10 levelups.

What about starting with bonuses and using a genemod?

Speaking of which, there is justice enforcement vacuum once again, if only briefly: Commissar Pancaek is out and for quite some time, General Miyamoto is down there on the planet, and General Milno never cared about petty things (as long they don't endanger the ship or everyone present) in the first place.
Of course, the justice might be served afterwards... but for now, the law is dead in the desolate halls of Paracelsus's Sword.

There is only a handful of subjects to the law on Sword right now. And Steve is onboard.

With an outside chance that Deathcube metagaming could accelerate that timeline. It has buttons that impact at least some stats, but I wouldn't bank on there being buttons for the skills.

I have another idea for a shortcut, but it would probably only work for the one skill.

This idea seems prohibitively expensive, therefore its probably entirely possible...

True, but Steve cares about such things even less than Sir Milno, to my knowledge. And just by doing it away from the AM ensures she does not barge in on the mugging/shanking session.

Cannot really say about the other NPCs... but somehow I think they would keep to themselves if it does not endganger them; there is, of course, Red Vengeance, but she is in a remote place and just maybe she'd rather see all the former convicts kill each other rather than help any single one of them.

Now, I don't approve such hostile actions... but the sheer possibility of actually doing so (one that was first denied by Jim, and then by Pancaek) is intriguing to me, thus the mention. And I think PW has been waiting for us to shank one another since always (and we have still let him down so far, except maybe with that incident/accident with Travis).

Locked it up in my room, I'm afraid. I was wheeling it over to the testing area to play with it when the call to arms thing went off, so I left it in there when I went to retrieve my gear.
