Something occurred to me.

Jim wants to go back to his old body when he gets out of ARM. However, if I'm not mistaken, he's lived most of his life with four arms. Will he adapt to having half the hands, or will he ask for extra arms on what is otherwise his normal body?

You have a very short memory of when Jim had 2 arms. Because the 4-armed one? Just when he went into the HMRC.

And he lived quite a longer life outside of it.

Didn't Jim get sent to the HMRC shortly after being created, then lose his body on his first mission?

Yo guys, I was wondering, are Sods inherently better than AI-based Robots that could perform the same duty? Why do we use them instead of the latter?

Because the UWM feels safer about genetically engineered idiots than artificial intelligents, I guess.

He's counting only the yearlong Hephaestus timeskip. Even though he was awake for weeks, if not months, on-ship and whatnot between jumps.

And he didn't get four arms until the mission he went into the memory of the ghost ship, IIRC, so not counting the timeskip he didn't get them until recently.

More importantly, no one really cares and it's not worth discussing or debating.

Also, is there anyone still down there in the on planet headquarters? I assume that the sod commander and sean are in the control room, but anyone else? I keep  feeling like there's someone else down there but I can't remember and it's bugging me.

Because they're cheap, but flexible.

-Fully robotic is kinda expensive, cause the UWM had a paranoid fear of stuff that they didn't know very well (full AI could behave in weird ways the UWM possibly couldn't predict). Wich means making full robots ourselves would require research and setting up production and crap (which takes a lot of time, and we only had a year before they arrived). For sods however, we could copy their production lanes and immediately start producing.
-we do have full robots (Steve bots) but those are expensive and not as flexible.
-we will be usig robobody sods in our ARMy, but didn't have time or resources to look into that yet.

He definitely had four arms by the time Grate came around. I remember that clearly. And Grate came before the ghost ship.
