From the comments: "A feminist programming language is a language that respects the agency of objects, acting upon them only upon mutual consent."

Poe's law is stretching my disbelief. The guy seems serious.
That would probably be a reference to the actual satire.

Yes, it is. It started on 4chan and mocks tumblr mercilessly, so I'm pretty confident in that.

C+= is a satire project in response to the blog I linked. But I can't find any matching reference to "objects with agency / mutually consent" there, and if you read the context of the quote I gave, it's clearly serious, and far too well thought out and justified for a simple troll effort.

A brief look suggests that it's just some bizarre thought experiment. Not really sure I see the point myself but if some people feel it's an idea worth considering more power to them.

Misko doesn't lose SAN to things like this. I switch to "too dumb to understand" when this occurs, which merely bruises my ego (EGO?). It takes Horrifying to lose SAN for me, Incomprehensible or Eldritch simply flies over my head. Too much Xantalos does that to you.

I don't understand enough of the link to comment intelligently, but my gut says "That's stupid".

Think if it this way: Imagine if they decided to design 'feminist maths' where numbers would only multiply if they consented to the act... Yea, it is just that silly.

That's what I thought, but reading it invokes feminist logic, which I simply can't even conceive of. Thinking about it too much reminds me of that perfectly round SCP.

EDIT: On an unrelated note, don't google "Feminist logic" expecting to get non-sarcastic responses.
EDIT2: Oh god even that was wrong.

That already exists. You're not sufficiently cynical.

Tumblr Feminism is annoying, but it isn't SAN loss. Quantum Mechanics, on the other hand, are made of SAN loss.

Yea but quantum mechanics cheats. I know it does! One day I'll catch it in the act...

^ The main argument is that maths is sexist because you're taught that things are just true, rather than as a dialectical reasoning process where you are encouraged to question everything.

How the hell can a programming language be affiliated with any gender?
