Well, they still seem to be hitting so that 20 some percent hit doesn't seem to bother too much.

Eh? The only one with two two-handed weapons was Vector, and that was only because he picked up Redshirt's stun stick after he died. Everyone else either wields a single two-handed weapon (plus often a smoke grenade or flare) or pistol-and-stun-stick.

Maybe, but the grenades are usually only equipped when they're ready to toss. Same with flares. Besides, laser weapons are accurate enough that they don't seem all that badly affected.

Awesome!

Except Ralphy Rifleson only getting one line his entire life with X-Com (his death scream).  Only one line isn't so awesome, but whatever!

New Recruit:
Name: Michelangelo Turtle
Weapon: Pistol and Stunrod, grenades galore!
Catchphrases: Cowabunga, Radical, other surfer expressions from the 90s
Bio: Due to a run-in the aliens testing new mutagen rounds, Michelangelo was transformed from a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle into a gun-toting human.  Aside from a new love of violence and guns, his personality remains roughly intact.  Because his brothers can't condone his new homicidal gun-toting ways, he decided to join X-Com and get vengeance on the aliens.  Insists that he belongs on the Anime Squad due to his past as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, despite the Anime Squad despising him, again for being a former Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

There Sirus, you should be able to remember the above character's idiosyncrasies!  Made it nice and easy for you.

Woo, over nine thousand made it! Unfortunately, while installed in something other than rocket tank, it is unlikely to have many opportunities to directly fulfil its primary directive of protecting humans from alien aggression. Although being a plane is pretty cool, you get to die announcing the catastrophic arrival of new alien technology.

On the last mission, you had two small rockets (one in the tube) and an incendiary, which you used. There was also a large rocket on the skyranger, put there for the Alien Base attack (but the terror mission happened first).

Sadly, the tight quarters of the last map prevented much in the way of explosives :/

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Well, since the next mission will be against the alien base, it's time we pulled out the next Redshirt Operative.

Name: Corbin "Danger" Jackson
Weapon: Rockets, auto fire weapons with explosive ammo, grenades. Anything that causes maximum collateral damage.
Bio: Unlike his many brothers, Corbin choose from a young age that he was not like the others. His scars are deep, and filled with gunpowder. It's said that he eats bullets for breakfast, and finds them "soft".
His favorite color is green, and when he found out what an alien bleeds, he knew his proper place.
