Note the quotation marks around evil. You obviously only have to be evil from DAF's perspective for it to work. And guess what you look like besides a huge dick?

But then if we're getting into the "views" part here, we could say everyone is evil from our perspective or everyone is good. Let the GM decide.

Also, pretty much ALL of the Guardians have some sort of darkness within their heart still. It's just part of their natural course, though their outside might still portray goodness within them.

I think the florans are supposed to be cannibals, at least in Starbound.
