You jump into the system, and immediately set course for the nearest known location of the drones. The asteroid you're heading towards clearly shows signs of recent mining activity. It's shrouded in a cloud of it's own gaseous debris, which beautifully reflects the sunlight towards your sensors. It's clear that not very long ago, the asteroid has been targeting with energy weapons, probably microwave mining lasers. A sad side-effect of this shortlived spectacle (within days or even hours, the gas will be diffused by pressure and solar winds) is that it jams your optical sensors, preventing you from getting a clear view of the surface.
Not that you need to anyway, a group of several mining drones rapidly breaks away from the asteroid with surprising speed. The ship adjusts course, and gives chase, an effort which is greatly aided by a bit of electronics warfare from the AI. It jams the enemy drone's communications and sensors, and their safety systems kick in, cutting of the engines, allowing you to match speed and drop them into the docking bay. You have captured 5 drones, but sensors also reveal that drones from across the system are setting course for the primary asteroid. You have counted at least ten groups of 5 drones each. You could possible get in range of another group or two before they join the main herd at the asteroid, but that would put you pretty close to it, and your sensors can't detect what's happening there.
Anyway, the mining drones were all carrying a decent amount of materials, which have been transferred to your cargo hold. The mining drones themselves have been deposited there to. They're equipped with a basic grasper, a wide focus microwave laser, a precision cutting laser, and a cheap spectrograph for mineral detection. They're capable of carrying a single missile, though none of the drones have one.
Tremor and Fernando do manage to create some interesting dumbfire missiles, at least on paper. They're simple affairs, a hydrogen oxygen powered missile with a primitive impact warhead. Unfortunately, they're not really stable. The fuel has to be kept cool, lest it will start to expand, and blow up the missile.
Missing Cargo
A cargoship containing new ammunition for the house Saeta military has gone missing. Broadcasts suggest that it has been hijacked by pirates.
A-29 Drone hunt
150 credits per mining drone, 500 credits per mining vessel, 2000 for taking out the 2 capital ships seen in the sector. Significant defenses are present.
Pirate Investigation
The government offers a 1000 credit bounty on each pirate ship, a 2000 credit bounty on any hints towards the location of the dignitary and a 10 000 credit bounty for his safe return, with an additional 10 000 credit bonus if the pirate base is destroyed.
Investigation
Contact with a research organization doing jump drive research has been lost. A concerned relative of one of the people working there has asked you to investigate. Do note that this installation was somewhat secret, and that entry technically is trespassing. The station had modest drone defenses, and has ceased reporting 2 weeks ago.

Edit : About railgun shells. There are many reasons to have an explosive railgun shell. Mostly to insure that rather than putting a clean hole through your opponent, you leave nothing behind but debris.
Edit 2 : the OOC thread is linked in the OP
