Oh... that's like 6 500-16 500 credits per share. A lot.  Our guys really made a fortune starting from 4000 credits worth shuttle.  It's obvious that no one gonna bring that much money to join.

Correction to the beta plan

Business part
a) Buy pirate hunting license: 2000
b) Create and register a jointly owned mercenary company, with equal shares owned by crew-members. Total cost of company is unimportant because no crewmembe can claim part of the ship. By leaving the crew he loses his share.
90% of income should go to the joint fund of the crew, and 10% to share evenly between cremembers to spend it as they want.
Income is - sold items, new members fees and rewards paid for the jobs. Loot reused for the needs of the ship is not income
In short: Hail socialism
c) Start a system-wide advertisement campaign offering people to join the crew should they bring at least 500 cash or equivalent(crappy fighter\drone, resources, licensed software something from the list we we want to buy, specialist aid in repairs, whatever)  Should candidate have useful skills (like real military experience)  he may be accepted with lesser investment or no investment at all. Adverstiment + paperwork 600 credits. Hope it's enough
d) pay 360 credits to the crew as a share from the sold shuttle (12 credits each). First actual profit. Besides. I think it's nice to have personal cash for our characters.

Rest of the plan is the same
May increase that 500 a bit, but IMO that's a good price. And skilled crewmembers without additional stuff is a nice bonus and well worth advertisement investment

+1 to the Above, I like the socialist take
Also buying a pirate hunting license does not prevent us from destroying drones at first.

I started work on the update. It will be ready by tomorrow, but you can still suggest some specific changes to the systems. Preferably low tech, as you have a lot of those resources left over.

On a side note, upgrading auxiliary engines isn't possible on your budget. Not without creating dangerous weak spots in the armor, anyway.

OK, auxulary engines will wait till the next upgrade time

Some ideas for specific low-tech changes:

a) Reactor room should benefit from replacing faulty wires. In fact all the ship should benefit from fixing wires. if that is the same moon I think it is, copper should be readily available
b) Life support can benefit from new, oversized heating sinks located all over the place. Again it's a good use for copper. Later it may be replaced with better cooling systems
c) Forgot to include structure fixes in the grand list, those to be done as a low priority stuff. We are gonna fight pirates so anti-boarding measures are needed. Bulky doors are nice things to have as well as low tech traps like collapsible ceilings and spike traps  in key corridors is another not hard to do, but very effective anti boarding measure. Of cause those aren't pressure controlled, they should be controlled from the bridge
d) On painting scheme - I prefer uniform metallic paint with fake turrets painted. Good both for advertisements and to confusing enemy on number of our turrets
e) Faraday cages for things that can be protected in that way is not a bad thing, either

I meant adding a lot of engines in regards to our fighter, not our main vessel.

You decide to stay on the planet for some time, and have the entire ship overhauled. The hull is repaired, turret mounts are installed, and a variety of systems are upgraded, replaced and/or adjusted. You did have to sell the shuttle for funds, but in exchange you now have a Mercenary license, and all the other bureaucratic stuff that is associated with owning a warship. Additionally, as it's clear that 30 people is a little few to man a warship, you decided that it could help to hire some more people, provided they could contribute.

Spoiler: Candidates (click to show/hide)

Additionally, the rest of the world has not been idle. Pirates have kidnapped the dignitary from the Azumaril system, heavily damaging relations with the House of Saeta. He's been taken aboard a so far unknown pirate . So far, there have been no requests for ransom. The situation in sector A-29 has also further escalated. Though the RMC continues denying any involvement, an unknown group is regularly performing mining operations in the system. There's now decent security.

so: Hire Ex-Saeta Military Software engineer and Small Mercenary group. No need to inflate our crew, yet.
When we'll become popular and famous, people will join our socialist community eagerly

On purchases... It's rather sad that we have no funds to arm the drone or install the second turret. But we need flak ammo and missiles... Any ideas on what missiles to choose?

BTW, shouldn't we have an access to more purchasable stuff after we got the license?

Most important question is what mission to choose. I like A-29, even if it looks rather dangerous now. Bounties are nice and I'd love to have drones loot to repurpose them
Dignitary saving requires boarding abilities, something we quite lack, even with that small mercenary group joining us
Trespassing is something I don't want to try

((A few missiles were added.  The largest problem is a shortage of weaponry, requiring in high sale restriction on a number of items.))

So. The plan

a) HireThe AI*. Ex-Saeta Military Software engineer and the small Mercenary group
* Always risky, but in a fun way, right?

b) Purchase:
3 flak ammo units 180
2 interceptor missiles 140
1 Tether missile 20
4 Aegis missiles 80
4 explosive railgun shells 80

As we are going in a small drone infested area, I expect that we will spend flak ammo fast. Interceptor missiles are for advanced combat drones\fighters we may encounter. Explosive shells to be used on large ships in key situations

c) Set course to A-29 for mining drones hunting

d) During the trip to the A-29 crew will process additional scrap (up to 25 units) for additional railgun shrapnel ammo to use against drones

e) Also, with aid of the AI and newly hired military software engineer, our coders will try to develop a way to remotely hack standard mining drones we may encounter.  Disabling a drone without combat is great. Making it to switch to our side is even better. I think mining drones do not have that good anti-hacking measures.

Tremor will spend his time with the new group, getting friendly with them, doing smallish repairs in their craft and studying it looking for ways to upgrade once funds will be available.

Hire the AI and the Mercenaries. To me the military guy seems more risky...

Fernando's action: Make a checkup of laboratory stations in the ship, I want to know what kind of research qualities we are holding on this ship.

Truly, I can give that answer straight away.

None. Sure, life-support has air analyzing equipment, the reactor comes with all related monitoring equipment, but there's no dedicated research equipment. It's a warship, not a science vessel. The advanced tool set comes with some equipment, but nothing special.

How much would it cost to build a small lab? I am asking because once we made some cash Fernando will have some money for himself.
