You pass by the dining hall and into the kitchens. A thin handservant in cooks clothing is preparing the last little bits to a large meal. She looks at you and shakes her head with a nice smile. "You're in the wrong room master. The dining hall is that way." She points to the room behind you with a slight wink and a gentle shove leading you the right way.

Slightly confused, I stumble into the dining room.

Seat myself at the dining table, preparing my handkerchief for dinner.

I take a seat at the table, placing my flail and bindle on the floor, close at hand.

You head south under covered of night. It appears you're getting a bit of a head start, so you're going to be possibly a day ahead of everyone else...

Three men stand in your way. Two are carrying axes and the other is carrying a bastard sword. "Well well... Someone who thinks they're better then the night? This road has a toll. 100 gold, turn back, or we take everything you own, you won't get a second chance if you turn back now. I remember faces well, and I can be damned sure I'm not going to forget YOUR ugly mug, halfling."

His two axe wielding men beat their shields a bit, as if asking for a challenge.

As they enter Aurel's home, Karl walks next to Symon. "Not from Amn, I take it? The Cowled Wizards claim that only they have the right to practice magic within the borders of Amn. Those who practice the arcane arts without their permission can face penalties from fines to death. They are powerful enough to manage to make this stick for a very long time."

With a smile, Karl addresses Aurel "Could you tell me which room is to be mine? I would be a better guest at your table if I don't clank like a foundry when I pass a dish along."

Once he knows which room is his, Karl goes upstairs and removes his armor, coming back down dressed in well-tailored but otherwise plain traveler's clothes instead. As a sign of trust, he has left his sword in his room next to the neatly arranged armor.

With a smile, Karl addresses Aurel "Could you tell me which room is to be mine? I would be a better guest at your table if I don't clank like a foundry when I pass a dish along."

"Of course. Petra, show this gentleman to his room if you would, please."

The young hand servant comes out of the kitchen after she directs simon into the dining hall. She then guides the paladin to his room upstairs, quickly returning to the kitchen to finish with the dinner.

The room is rather plain but it shows little sign if anyone has been here in years. Removing your armor takes some time, being plate and all. By the time you return, Petra the hand servant is already serving dinner to the other guests.
