I can't for the life of my remember the name, but there was a really simple simulation that had these things with legs and there was food on the map. They would go around and get food and multiply. The ones that reproduced the most got their traits handed down while the ones that couldn't would leave the gene pool. I am sure someone on here will remember it.
Edit: Found it: http://www.ventrella.com/darwin/darwin.html
Got me a few hours of entertainment.
Ah, yeah I remember that game! I was trying to remember the name of it! Gonna have to delve into that as well; the good thing about these games is that you can just leave them running and come back and see what happened while you were gone and what new species evolved.

Its really old; almost impossible to get running on a modern system and basically requires you to follow mostly the same evolutionary lines that historically happened on Earth. Still a great game I had a ton of fun with back in the day. You could even play it with other people.
That sounds pretty interesting, I'm definitely looking into it.
Sim Earth was also good; again super dated by today.
Ah... Sim Earth, another game that I need to begin playing. I don't mind dated games at all, some of the older games are my favorites.
There is also Spore, but its not realllly what anyone wanted.
Believe it or not, I pre-ordered spore; and I don't regret it. Seriously, It was a fun game, not what I was expecting, but a fun game nonetheless and I sure got my moneys worth playing that game.
How... What? HOW DID THIS THING SURVIVE!?
