What about diseases, folks?  How can you see if someone has caught a disease or not/if they have a disease or not?  how can diseases get cured without the specific pill to cure it?
You can't see their diseases, but you can see symptoms and stuff of it, if there is one.  For example, Eleesha always has chronic vertigo(It is in her backstory).  If you are Janice and Eleesha is sleeping in a bed in the same room at cycle change, Janice will see a message saying she helped Eleesha out with her chronic vertigo.  After a few sessions, it will be cured.  I don't believe Mush suffers mental sickness...

Another example is... I forgot the name, something like gastrinomy or something.  The player gets dirty easily and can throw up or something.  Curable with DIY Surgery or with a pill that can cure it.  Mush do not throw up.

Mush DO suffer from diseases if they inherit it from their human. And they can get cured in the normal fashion. So don't think just because Janice is treating Eleesha that Eleesha isn't a Mush.

I'm on the same ship as Zangi and andrea. It was going well, we had an expedition set-up and we're close to finishing Pilgred, but everyone decided to go inactive for half a day. Now there's a fire to deal with - the question is do I spend precious ap scouting every populated area in case my crewmates are burning to death?

well, going inactive for half a day is usually called "sleeping". although I wish captain managed to launch the expedition.
I see the fire was dealt with however.

are you Raluca?

Yup, I'm Raluca, was just bothered that everybody decided to take a 12-hour break at such critical time, in the middle of hunter attack when we're almost out of oxygen. Unfortunately, this game doesn't care about feeble human necessities such as sleep (how much more civilised would it be if we had four 6 hour cycles a day?).
edit: 16 hour break in the case of Jin Su. He trolled us all last night by carefully setting up the expedition, but being the only pilot and not launching. And now I'm trolled by Stephen - he says he'll bring me a ration with 30 minutes to go before the cycle turns, but for some reason doesn't start moving until there's 3 minutes left - since I'm Raluca and can't afford the morale hit I'm gone from the dorm before he arrives. The question is, are either of them doing this deliberately to cost us resources (and drive me insane as a helpful byproduct)?
edit2: Zangi - you're Eleesha, right? Could you drop the anti-grav scooter?

Also, anyone who gets on a ship with me, this is the plan:
Phase 1 (Operation Inventory)
Initial inventory: 2 chars dispatched to each "quarter" of the ship to do inventory and move items.
Paola invests in Neron Upgrade
Everone else works on researching Spore Sucker

Phase 2 (Operation Mush Suck)
Chun gets the knife and armor.
An active char with "shooter" meets up with her in a camera-dorm after grabbing the spore sucker.
That character then uses the spore sucker on themselves.
If they get dirty, they are confirmed human. They retrieve the blaster, and serve as a guard for the next subject.
Every character is processed in order. If a character cannot use the spore sucker and thus cannot get dirty, they are brutally murdered for being mush.

Phase 3 (Mush Free Eden)
Victory!

Phase 1
Eleesha picked up antigrav scooter and inventoried nearly the whole ship solo.
Paola does NERON and gets the Sink and Anti-Gravity Thrusters (in a ship with 4 pilots). I hate NERON.

Phase 2
Quote
Eleesha : I vote for Anti-mush spore ASAP. Nothing is more important in the beginning
Jin Su : what about spore sucker? ;P just kidding.
Ian : I assume you mean ANTISPORE GAS? (I'm not being condescending here I'm being stupid bear with me.)
Gioele : Spore sucker is good too ^_^
Eleesha : They're totally kidding. Don't do spore sucker. :P

I'm on the same ship as Zangi and andrea.
Finola turned out to be the mush, as expected. She killed Janice and fled in a patrol ship - we had just switched off pilot lock after Jin Su pulled the same trick as last night, coming online to organise an expedition, before going afk - luckily Finola went on the rampage before we launched Icarus. It would seem the two are working together - it would make sense for the mush to target the captain, Chun and then Janice.
Still waiting for Zangi to drop the anti-grav scooter, if he is indeed the Eleesha in this game. Though maybe the mush got you too...

edit: One point of irritation - not sure if it was a Bay12 person, but in our game pre-mush assignment, the Kuan Ti grabbed the mush sample and went afk in the dorm for a couple of days, until we finally killed him. He turned out to be mush, but it really seemed to set our research wildly off course (the mush Finola just making matters worse). So our first two lab researches were anabolics and narcotics distiller... just ugh. Because of Kuan Ti's action, I thought this was just down to novice players researching the only 2 things available, so I gave Finola's bad decision making the benefit of the doubt for too long.

I'm not in your ship... :P  My Kuan Ti is active.   And my ship has absolutely zero research done...

Apparently Saturday means Friday now, so I just started on a new ship as Hua. Let me just say that I love the Piloting skill right now, since it's really easy to kill incoming Hunters and the like.

So - I think this MMM ship may well be the worst ship I've ever been on. The actives are active... but aside from one or two, useless. No one is taking the lead, but no one is willing to listen to me, either. Everyone "knows" the game, so they just do whatever they think is right. Meanwhile, we've got several barely-actives, who have spent maybe 4ap since the game began, having done one action last night and one today before going offline.

Give me the noobs and genuine inactives any day of the week. :/

I need a hug or euthanasia, not sure which - what do you guys think about what happened?  So I'm Finola, and I was first aboard and all that on my new ship.  I posted helpful information and all that good stuff, like what was done on my first ship that did so very well.  One of the things I posted was common newbie mistakes to avoid, and one of the ones I listed was this:

Quote
Finola : Do NOT cook all the food. In fact, do not cook any food without good reason. Cooked food disappears at the end of the day. Food is a limited resource, make sure you -need- to eat it before you touch it - otherwise, just leave it alone.

Our Stephen responded to that thread (still before all players were on, so no one was Mush yet) and answered -

Quote
Stephen : Hey, I'm Stephen the Chef. If you want some food cooked, better ask me, don't waste your own precious action for it.
Finola : Awesome, Stephen! Welcome aboard! You do know not to cook all the food, I trust :D.
Stephen : Yes, first time as Stephen, but I read your message already, thank you for that.

So a bit later our Jin Su, who had taken the third level skill that gives him extra AP for killing others - so is NOT a newbie, cause you don't get access to third level skills without having played before, and if you're newbie you are forced to take your character's first skill - anyway Jin Su has no other skills showing but that one, hasn't spoken at all in the game yet, and then he walks into alpha dorm with a blaster and first repeatedly kicks off Hua, then fires all three blaster charges at him.  Jin Su doesn't complete the kill, but he hit Hua more than once so Hua was already forced off the bed.  Jin Su then lies down in the bed that Hua had been lying in - all this without a word to anyone.

So I get a private chat going with everyone who had spoken that game at all (that's only 9 players!) and coordinate Jin Su's assassination.  It actually takes 3 of us to kill him - but he's human.  I believed he had to die because of his actions and because he is captain - he's acting crazy, not talking, and I'm not sure we can coordinate to move the ship without a functional captain.

Chao is second in line for captain, Chao's active, speaking, and gives every appearance of being a sane player.

Back to Stephen.  So Terrence and I were both present for Jin Su's death, and we both got sick.  Thus we are both human.  A bit later, Terrence has left the dorm, reports a fire, and apparently gets stuck in it.  I log in to see his reported fire (the timing's great, it's probably a real fire), realize there's someone in the room with the fire, and run to get a fire extinguisher and save him.  That works.  He's down 5 health, I can fix that, we both know we're human so we can do it in medibay which is empty too.  So we start to relay-move him to medibay, and he mentions to me that he saw Hua cook some food.  We were wondering about Hua's failure to report having gotten dirty, so I check the kitchen.  Log says that Stephen has cooked 4 meals and eaten one.  There's 3 cooked rations just lying there.

Earlier I'd noticed Stephen pick up but not drop the soap (he had dropped a white flag, but I'd not known what that meant), so I'd told him we needed that soap, drop it soon and don't leave the dorm with it on public chat.  He answers that he used the soap to make the white flag, and that he made 3 cooked rations and left them in the refractory for anyone who wants one. (it's currently D2 - no one has asked him to cook any food - my posts about don't cook is the only thing that's been said on any public channel).

So he could have spiked food, he did destroy the soap, and he knows how to talk but he's not following instructions or asking us if we agree to plans or not (destroying the SOAP!  and before anti mush soap can be made from it!).

So I coordinate a kill on him.  We kill him, and he's human.

Am I being stupid?  Would you have killed that Jin Su and that Stephen?  We still have two living mush, it's D2, C8.

I love my MMM ship. 4 pilots, 2 techs, maybe even 2 sofas soon if we dismantle lizaro jungle. Plasma shield progress at 60%. Hull is at 100%. Eleesha's laying down the mush interrogation hard ("nobody go in medlab! everyone entering bravo dorm will be monitored!"), wondering if she's mush herself.

Imp, at this point, euthanasia just seems like a good idea. Nothing screws up a ship quite like a cook-happy Stephen or a moronic Jin Su.
