... gronk did drop his core. Ignacio is holding onto it atm - well, technicaly the group-inventory does, but you get the point, right?

On another note, as I have been wondering for some time now; this thread is not hopelessly dead, so what are you doing here, posting and stuff? I thougt you were only about necroing ...  :P

Wait a moment right there - would a creature of light attack wishbone? Is his undead state only considered unnatural, or evil right of the bat? Anyways, ー1 to summons that would result in attacks on our regular cast.
Sorry, it had been a while since I had read that. I am notorious in my hometown for my horrendous memory. Combine that with the fact I have recently discovered /tg/ and other shenanigans involving ogre civ quest and ruby quest, I have spread my already limited memory VERY thin. And good Lurker, I am not a necromancer, I am a Necromonsieur!

Heh, I posted that as a joke. Then again, this is Bay12 and this plan is crazy enough to work...

Chapter 1: Garden Gambit

Turn 20

Ignacio, Wishbone: Advance.
Ithan: Hm. I'm not sure what spell to use, so I'll advise him to shoot the elf or move into bow range for now.
Oscar: Follow Ignacio and Wishbone.

Checking the stats...yowch. I don't want to spend a soul, but I don't want to have a 90% chance of missing.

Ignacio, Wishbone: Advance.
Ithan:
Hm. I'm not sure what spell to use, so I'll advise him to shoot the elf or move into bow range for now.
Oscar: Follow Ignacio and Wishbone.
+1, but instead of shooting the elf with Ithan, just summon an angel near the advancing people. Syn is making me really nervous, so lets play it safe. Besides, if it lives, we can use it to heal the escort.

"Time to heroically shield my party members from harm... by summoning a harmless unarmed creature and praying that it chooses to heroically shield my party members from harm. Angelus custos, vocant. Ad litteram, quod Ego!"

The guardian angel appears in a puff of Gold Glitter. It quickly assess the situation and checks recent posts in the threads, before deciding that it can be most helpful by drawing fire for Ignacio.

The party moves up. Nobody enters Syn Greene's line of fire just yet. Here is a quick rundown of the situation.

-Everybody except Ithan has to enter the Mini-Bosses line of fire to get significantly closer to it.
-Getting into melee range with Syn Green will expose you to its Spore Laden ability, but would also subject it to your AoOs should the elf choose to cast a spell, use its bow, or move.
-Wishbone can enter into melee with Syn Green next turn if he so chooses.
-Ignacio needs two turns to reach Melee Range. The Guardian Angel's Aura Shield ability should protect him from harm while he closes the gap.
-Oscar needs 1 turn to reach the edge of his fiery dash range, and 2 turns to get into range for a puff of flame.
-If Ithan exploits his maximum movement, he can put a Cherub in a position where it can fire on the miniboss. You can also put a Wyrmling close to the battle this way, but you wont know what it can do, and at what range, until you summon it.

"Whats the matter? Too afraid to show your face?"

"Too... smart to do so before I have to."

"Oh! Oh! Is that a challenge to my honor? Guys, can I rush in and beat that guy up to save face? It should be fun!"

"The one thing I'm not afraid of, is to admit that I am a coward. Keep up the crap talking guys... whatever keeps the elf's attention away from me." *mewl*

"Hey Amelia? Bored of being dead yet?"

"I've been bored of being dead pretty much since I died. Why? Gonna bring me back?"

"Sort of. I got a multiverse spanning task for you that is too risky for me to entrust to a live character. I'll bring you back to life and put you in the party on the tiny chance you can pull it off. You in?"

"Are you asking me if I would like to be relevant in a game where 'X' isn't? OF COURSE I WOULD! Lets get on it!"

"Great. I just get to get some fun housecleaning/bureaucratic stuff taken care of with the department of cosmic liscenses and redundancy department, and then we should be good to go. Stay tuned."

Wishbone; Ithan (kinda).

Hm. Let's start with the obvious.

Ignacio, Wishbone, Guardian Angel: Begin advance. Optionally, engage Banter Mode.

Aside from that...I think we've expended enough summons for this fight, but that might just be me.

Ithan: Move into LOS, shoot the Mini-Boss.

Now for the big question...how will Oscar contribute? He could pretty nicely overkill the guy with a Fiery Charge...if it hit. If it didn't? Our favorite, squishy offensive caster would be left adjacent to an enemy. An enemy which specializes in ranged attacks, but still...

Ithan can fly, but he has to give up any other actions IIRC.

And for the record, I wasn't trying to get you killed. I just overestimated your competence.

Oscar: Put a Fire Aura on Wishbone to give him an extra bit of AC for when he gets up close.

Enter diplomatic talking mode, point out how you just made him strong enough to take over the elven kingdom and therefore he should thank you and allow you to pass on unharmed.

Chapter 1: Garden Gambit

Turn 21

Enter diplomatic talking mode, point out how you just made him strong enough to take over the elven kingdom and therefore he should thank you and allow you to pass on unharmed.

"What he said. You are much better off now. You are clearly a match for the elven empire! You should thank us and let us walk!"

"Bull. I may be as strong as anything on the first, or perhaps even second floor, but the bosses would still kick my ass. Not to mention the Empire commands Deep Elves, Academy Sages, Divine Bloodlines, Terrible Tamed Beasts, and other things I couldn't even begin to dream about beating. Good try though..."

Oscar: Put a Fire Aura on Wishbone to give him an extra bit of AC for when he gets up close.

"Alright! I can do that! Mewmewmewmew!!!!!"

"Oscar moves forward, and with a single flick of his tail, encases Wishbone in a protective aura of searing heat and blinding flame!"

"Awesome! If I still had meat, it would reach a juicy 165 degrees in no time! Thanks Oz! Now if you excuse me, I'm going to baste this loser!"

"The Skturkey charges forward ready to attack, but the universe decides to punish his corny sense of humor by causing the attack roll to turn up a 6. Even with Wishbone's huge attack bonus added onto that, it isn't even close to getting past Syn's huge AC score! Wishbone's attempt sees him covered in painful spores that inflict 1 damage!

Ithan and Ignacio both advance, but neither can get into position to attack this round...

Syn decides decides to risk an AoO and attempt a point-blank shot on Wishbone!

Wishbone takes the opportunity, and promptly rolls a natural 20 on the attack roll! His roll to confirm comes in at 20 after apply bonus, which is not quite enough to register the critical hit. Wishbone karate-chops the elf for 4 regular damage and 2 lawful damage! Wishbone takes another point of damage from the spores!

Injured but undaunted, Syn continues with his shot. His attack roll, after bonus, is a 17, so he misses the evasive and flaming monk."

"Gosh mister, that attack was half baked. Beating you up will be fun, and taking all that sweet loot will be just gravy!

*groans* "Your puns... they are as painful as any weapon in this dungeon.

It's alright, no one remembers how you died. It had something to do with kobolds, though.

Anyways.

Wonder why the spores weren't incinerated.
Wishbone: Full Attack! That is, use Flurry of Blows.

If the elf survives:
Ignacio: Advance.
Ithan: Fire.
Oscar: Continue to offer tactical enigmas.

You died a hero, so that others could live to fight on in your name. And the vengeful slaughter of your murderers was spectacular and painful.
