What's going on there with Man? Stalled two times in a row.

He's alive and well in 402. Though I've heard he's taken quite a beating from Sceleria in this one.

I'll claim that everyone that isn't Agartha, R'lyeh or Sceleria is losing this game. It's an easy claim to make. It's not that much harder to say that everyone that isn't R'lyeh is losing the game.

Sounds fun! Have we got any newsletter updates in circulation?

I'm looking to buy Dom 4 if it's an overall improvement over Dom 3. What do you guys think? :)

It's not a revolutionary improvement. It's an evolutionary one. It's probably along the lines of Dom1->Dom2 in terms of scope. A lot of UI improvements, rule refinements and rebalancings, new mechanics (e.g. thrones, revamped fortresses, non-fortress recruitment for certain nations, poptype-based PD, etc. etc.), improved modding functionality, a number of new nations (EA Phoneticians and Babylonians, EA Machaka, MA Bogarus, Carrion Woods/Soulgate as freestanding nations, Oceania split in two), some new pretenders, a lot of enrichment to underground and underwater play (e.g., new native poptypes and summons, aquatic PD for non-aquatic nations), updated graphics for a lot of old units... It's mostly (mostly) small changes, but it's a lot of small changes. I'd say it's worth it.

[Edit: oh, and some under-the-hood changes too. I think it's able to host a bit fast, and the AI is more efficient. Not smarter, but more efficient - and an additional difficulty level was added. So while an experienced player will still feast on its bones, a novice-to-middling player will have a noticeably harder time winning.)

I remember, a long time ago in a galaxy far away, I've installed Dom 3 and have decided that it is one of the only games that will never, ever be wiped from my harddrive for any reason whatsoever.

That promise has been broken, because of Dom 4. Get it.

I honestly don't know what to do now. I mean, I was expecting to die, and even though I won, those survivors represent the entirety of my armed forces. There's no way I can rebound from this; at this point I think it's probably best to just go AI.

Things to take from that battle: B9 bless isn't that dangerous for battlemages if you give 'em resistance items. Blade wind is super killy against Mictlanese units, but we knew that already. Cloud spells like Fire Cloud are very useful when defending a fortress; I'm not sure if they trigger BV or not. The great thing about an F9 bless is that it can harm ethereal units; this is probably why those Eagle Warriors didn't slaughter my commanders.

So what's going on with communions, eh?
I had a communion set up to boost priest levels, and it had worked before, but this time it didn't and I don't know why. The only difference is that the previous master had a level of nature magic on top of his priestly powers, and this one was just a prophet. Both had crystal matrices(matrixes?).
Additionally, the slaves gained fatigue when masters were casting a 0 fatigue banishment. What's up with that?


Also, prophet Etimmu with heroic toughness is just so fucking broken.
