All of the dictatorship countries have enough supplies to keep them going through winter as of right now.
Im going to create a simple handbook as this might get a bit complicated but overall the rules are simple.
Some simple economic and military rules to get people started:
Ok first of all every 2 days are equal to one turn.And one turn=one month.That means that a year = 24 days.This ensures everyone has a chance to have their turn while keeping the game rolling well enough.
Basic economic rules:
30 food gets used up for every person every month.
No food growth in winter unless a trade agreement was made earlier on.
Each country has a beginning area of 20x20.Thats enough for 400 buildings/farm plots etc.
Each Farm Plot Creates 25 Food at Harvest time
Basic Military
To train soldiers (not recommended early on) you must use iron and steel (1 iron and 0.5 steel for each soilder)
Upkeep requires $5 per soldier per day.

Note most actions arnt complete and everything might not be completely balanced in year 1.
