((On the detail of the reptiles? I just wanted to have a little fun there, and I didn't want to use the stereotypical Velociraptor either, so I chose the Achillobator as a base reference to these reptiles.))

((Fun Fact of the Turn: Dinosaurs and reptiles, while similar, are actually the fork from the protoreptiles that was before both!(So far as I can remember properly)))

She lowers her hands slowly, so as not to provoke you. "My name is Danielle Wrythwia. I am one of the few known as a Medium. In more specific wording, I am the Medium  of Magic and Chaos. I know, 'magic' sounds pretty lame, but I got used to it, considering it comes with some pretty cool powers. It's more witchcraft, really, which is why I was nicknamed the 'Witch.' You could say I'm one of the newer Mediums, of which there were four in total. I am the third, and I'm considered the unstable one, which is why I was never allowed into a position of leadership." She shrugs, not seeming to care much despite having a currently low image right now.
"Not that I was really ever good at leading. I'm not inspirational like the others. I mean, who would want to listen to an autistic girl? Never mind that though. Then there's the Guardians, which are more numerous than the Mediums, but only come from their distinct worlds. There are ten Guardians per each Medium, so that's about forty Guardians right there for us four Mediums. So there's us. There anything you want to know in detail about us, or next subject? I'm in no hurry, at least not yet."

[Lenglon]

"Thank you for the direct answer. What is a Medium, and what is a Guardian?"
Finally, some straight answers. Also, autistic? I guess I need to be careful about what emotion I'm showing through my actions to avoid overwhelming her.
Put the knife away, and release my grip on her.

Well, let's start with the Guardians first, since they are the base unit here. The Guardians are a group of people who have a certain condition that sets them apart from the normal populace: they are 'awake.' What I mean by this is that these people are the ones who hurt the most, who see the most in the world, who know the future and have potential for the future. It's a whole philosophical debacle on what exactly defines being 'awake,' but it's the only requirement for Guardians. Guardians, over their lifetime, gain power based on their domain and their affinity. The domain determines the environment they work best in, the affinity determines their exact powers.

We didn't know this until he figured it out, but the purpose of the Guardians and our powers is to fight the Shadow, which possesses those who are not 'awake.' That's why we always suffer - it's because we need to know true emotion to keep those who are not Guardians alive."

She pauses to cough for several moments before continuing her explanation.
"Sorry. Now, the Mediums. The Mediums, including myself, do not belong to the same world that the Guardians come from. The Guardians, ten per each world, come from and stay in the world that they're born in. Mediums bridge the different worlds and create multidimensional unions between the Guardians. Mediums are like half-Guardians, and while they are not fully from the same world, they are still just as powerful as Guardians are. I am a Medium, and I serve to bridge my world with the worlds of the other Mediums, along with fighting alongside the Guardians against the Shadow.

And I do believe that you may be the next Medium. The Medium for this world, which is why I brought you here." She stops and lowers her eyes. "The hard part now is keeping the Medium intact, because everything I knew and lived through before was shattered."

Finally some answers... but is this the same person as I was talking too earlier? her personality seems a little different. Is this a facade? probably not, but...

"Very little, truthfully. What I know of your country's past conquest of my country lies mostly in legend, though I have some thoughts, suspicions, and the gist is as factual as information can get after so many years. Put succinctly, you invaded, we lost. Years later, internal issues arose and we rebelled, you lost. More years later, everyone advanced and you're back. Though what I think you are asking for is if I know what those internal issues were, and I don't. I am interested, however."

GAAH, sorry. Don't worry, I HAVE been writing the update (about 50-60% done now). Unfortunately I have tons of homework to get done so I must also consider that.
(You might wanna pay attention to Lenglon's/Onyxjew's character replies this turn, as there will be some exposition thrown from their way.)

I was going to post a half-worked update today, but I thought "nnnooooo, it's NOT GOOD ENOUGH."

So I am going to work tomorrow on doing this update from dawn to dusk if I have to. Even if I don't finish it, I WILL post what I have done so that you guys and girls have something to read.
