looks like to get the latest build off the github website, you're supposed to go here

https://github.com/pjf/masterwork-dwarf-fortress/

for gold.

if I try to manually go to the url's in the 1st post, I get messages about not being update for 18 days on github with those links.

nevermind

update:

the problems I was having was following the link from the email

https://github.com/ppeng/masterwork-dwarf-fortress (is 18 days old)

when it says to do a

git pull https://github.com/ppeng/masterwork-dwarf-fortress gold

Update 2:
Morale is. Link to zips point to https://github.com/pjf/masterwork-dwarf-fortress/

But email updates point to a ppeng vs pjf in the url

Well, if we are going to use the fork ppeng made he'll need to pull all the pull requests in line for the other fork into his fork somehow. And all of the Issues posted will be gone unless there is a way to import them.

A new thread would have to be made too ... A lot more work ...

@Meph

I know how my last post could have sounded a tad impatient and naggish, but it wasn't coming from a place like that at all. Just taking a casual glance at his git page, it's obvious he has a ton of projects going on. He could have honestly forgotten about this project by mistake is what i'm saying. I know how busy he is, I respect that, and I would have not said anything at all, except this twitter post that he's modding Kerbal Space Program now caught my eye while touring around his website. That's what prompted me to ask somebody with a Twitter if he still has interest in MW:DF, not the waiting. I would have just sent a tweet out myself but I'm not all that into Twitter and Facebook. IRC is more my speed.

Ok, I didnt even know about Kerbal modding. Pjt is a programmer, but only a modest modder of Df raws, he has never done much in form of raw changes... his domain is scripts and github.

...does Facebook's behavior have any bearing on Twitter?

Maybe. My twitter acc posts everything automatically on facebook. Makes travel updates easier to do.

I'm playing with the latest beta patch build.

Getting this error on a consistent crash

What I was doing was pitting a bunch of creatures in my barracks live training pit and then was about to throw a moleweasel in for sport.  Then it crashed.

What trouble are you having pulling my fork? I'll try to fix your problems if you let me know.

I was thinking it would be nice if the first post included information of the specifics of the changes between the gold and the beta version.

personally i think the commit logs are sufficient for that, but if you want to write a more general summary you can edit the first post!

how do you edit the 1st post again (are the instructions for doing so even in the 1st post)?

Also, the link to the commit logs is dead (via the 1st post)

You edit it by editing the appropriate wiki page, but teelox has to manually run the updater for the post

Did Teelox ever explain how he did the release merge?

i believe what he was doing was branching his current repo, replacing all the files, and then doing a comparison of the new branch and the main branch. then you'd have to go through and manually/cherry-pick which changes to apply.

it's a brutally manual process since the original MDF isn't on github. *cough*Mephpromisedtousegithub*cough* with the massive restructuring of raws this time around, we may just have to replace everything and start over, going through the issues and seeing which have been resolved.

Are you going to do that in your repo? I might just start over in mine, once the rapid releases stop. (Not that I want them to, keep it up, Meph. Though now that I think of it, it would be nice to get to keep a fort once in a while..)
