Caverns of the Dead

Spoiler: Intro (click to show/hide)
In this RTD, you will be part of a group of adventurers fighting through and trying to stay alive in a cave set deep within a haunted mountain. Expect to verse monsters, undead, animals, the environment, and a maniacal GM as you go deeper and deeper. Reach the depths of the cave to find a treasure and win the game, Yay!

Spoiler: Form (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Equipment (click to show/hide)
If you think these values should be changed, and can provide evidence supporting this, it wiil happen.

So, I have done a couple of RTD's on other forums and have wanted to do this one for a while. I have not, however, participated in any on this forum. In this RTD, Basic Rtd roles will apply (ie. 1=epic fail --> 6= phyrric victory), and combat will involve a roll from both parties to see who bests the other, followed by a role from the victor to wound their opponent. Ranged weapons will roll for a hit and will automatically do one wound, and 2 wounds on a 5 or 6. Players will start with 10 health, and enemies will have as much health as I deem fit, Mwuhahahah, Hmph, sorry...

P.S. It is quite late where I am, and I have invariably made an error. If something vital is missing please let me know, Cheers...

Name: Kentigern "Kent" McPherson
Sex: Male
Age: 29
Short Bio: Indentured servant, factory worker, petty criminal, pit fighter - Kent McPherson has been it all, and he hates this city and its government with a quiet, methodical passion. By day, he scrapes by with whatever semi-legal job he's doing at the time. In the evening, he comes to this inn to collect information for the revolutionary group he's affiliated with. By night, he kills people for them. So, when this well-dressed, obviously aristocratic stranger makes his offer, Kent sees the opportunity right away. He will find that "object", and take it for his comrades. No need to tell anyone about it, though, ain't it so?
Armaments:
-1H sword
-Knife
Armour:
- Chainmail
- Shield
Survival:
- Rope
- Whetstone
- Flint

Name: Bethany or 'Hawkwoman' (Professional name)
Sex: Female
Age: 20
Short Bio: A 'former' Thief who enjoyed prowling rooftops and sneaking in through skylights with the use of a pair of wings-relieving the ultra rich of things they wouldn't miss anyway. She was quite successful, for a time, but eventually she was captured by a vigilante dressed like a rat...given the choice of prison, sidekickery, or paying off her debt to society by using her skill it was an obvious choice...now she uses her skills to relive the ultra rich of their ability to plunder the lower class. The job into the cavern brings with it an ulterior motive, for her-she wants to find the object and sell it, using the money to fund a number of good causes.
Prior Occupation: Expert covert object retrieval of extra legal expertise
Armaments:
-Bow (3pts)
-3xKnife (4pts)
Armour:
-Chain Armour (5pts)
Survival:
-3xBandage (1pts)
-10xarrow (1pts)
-Rope (1pts)
Personal:
Pair of Light Assembly Wings (Fold out wings on Bethany's back that allow for short flights, gliding and some acrobatics. Susceptible to damage. Might be real or a clever invention, who knows?)
Flight Goggles (A pair of blackened lens goggles that protect her eyes from grit, bright light and such.))

Name: Arlia Ernien
Sex: Male
Age: 18
Short Bio: An elf by name, appearance and behaviour, Arlia's feminine name and looks were the subject of much teasing by his human classmates when he was a child. This moulded him into a shy and non-confrontational child. As a result, he avoided social ventures and instead spent many hours in his room at home, acting out battles with his figurines and reading great tales of warriors and adventurers past. In his teenage years, he resolved to become a great soldier of fortune worthy of a tale like the ones he enjoyed reading (as long as he didn't have to run too far or hurt people too much and could maybe avoid hurting any wildlife too). Not long after his 18th birthday, he wasted no time in getting enough money together to take up the traditional arms and armaments of his people. Now, he waits in the tavern - the place he's told that he's sure to find an adventure at - for someone to come along and give him the opportunity of his heretofore-short lifetime.
Prior Occupation: None
Equipment:
  • Bow
  • 70 arrows
  • Shield
  • 2 lengths of rope

Edit: I'd just like to point out that 'pyrrhic victory' means a battle in which the victor lost much more than the defeated.

Hmm, If you roll a five, then I will comsider that a perfect victory anyway, and it will be positively effected, if, however it is a six, it will have more of a negative effect.

Wait, are the personal items costing points?
If they are small, and or, light, then no. But excessively large or heavy items will. From what I have seen, yours will not.

You do know this is underground, right?

@Losara: Indeed! But even then, there's still lots of places to maneuver right? It's essentially something to help me climb about better. The goggles are just eye protection...

Unless it's going to all be 5x5 flat corridors and square rooms with three feet of headspace.

Granted. There will indeed be large caverns and the such, and whilst the goggles are easily justifiable, I believe those wings would have to have some weight behind 'em... Tell you what, I want to see what will happen, so you can keep the wings if you loose at least one of the knives.
