Also, I've left if the wings are natural or mechanical up to you-since I'm not sure which one fits your setting better. Obviously, you can tweak the advantages and disadvantages of either of them.

A quick note on posting times; The opening post will be this afternoom (where I am anyway), at approx. 0700 GMT.
After that, there will be a post (hopefully) everyday at that time. If all posts are in early, I may accelerate the process.
Any questions/ complaints?

Part One: Arrival

It has been a week now since the events in the Inn, and you have prepared yourself for the journey ahead. You have gathered supplies, said your goodbyes, and am now ready to disembark. You meet the others outside the Inn, and you all introduce yourselves. Awhile later, one of the bodyguards from earlier comes around the corner in a horse-drawn wagon, and it grinds to a halt in front of you. You all look at each other, then proceed to pile into the back with all your gear. The man turns, looks you all up and down, then flicks the reins and starts the wagon rolling slowly down the narrow streets of the poor district.

After nearly an hour of grinding along, you Have left the town, and your old lives, far behind. As the wagon slows to a stop, you all jump down and shoulder a pack with your gear stored safely within. The guard turns and points to what can only be considered as a hole in the side of a nearby hill, maybe 100 metres away. It doesn't seem very special, certainly not special enough to warrant this much of a fuss. You shoulder your pack, glance at your comrades, and start off for the aptly named, Cave of the Dead...

"Well, no use just standing here." Sycamore sighed and made his way towards the entrance, the heavy load of his backpack making his gait awkward. "why am I even doing this anyway... with goddamn kids following me..."

Arlia busied himself stringing his bow and going over his gear once more before hopping off the back of the wagon. Everything appeared to be in order - a well-stocked quiver and small pack of provisions slung over his back, a flimsy wooden buckler strapped to his forearm and two mid-sized lengths of rope clipped to his belt. With a naive and optimistic smile, he then approached the cave entrance alongside Sycamore, keen eyes scanning the surrounding landscape for potential boons or dangers.
Approach hole in the ground. Observe surroundings for anything of note.

Bethany had amused herself on the trip by pick pocketing her teammates and then replacing what she stole without them noticing. Now it was time for business, however...

(Don't really like the idea. I had something special planned for that character, won't work for this incarnation.)
