See, light is just photons. Photons, when they strike atoms, can do a number of things depending on their frequency. Some break bonds, some cause rotation, and some increase the vibratory frequency of the atom. This last one is known as "heat," and will cause mastahcheese to dehydrate and immolate if the dice don't decide to screw Angel again.

...Which is a disturbing thing to picture literally.
