Well, I started fairly sensibly with Glasgow and Endinburgh, then got bored and started being silly again.
I am glad that you saw fit to differentiate 'Mancs' from 'poor Wankers' and 'Scousers' ;)

Wait, I had a brainfart there. Why did I label Corsica as Sicily?
Because the other island there is called Sardinia, which also starts with an s.

And what does this have to do with maps?

Wait, I had a brainfart there. Why did I label Corsica as Sicily?
That's the only problem you have with your map.

Someone almost tried!

It's not that bad.

I might make one up. Not a serious one, though.

I solemnly swear that I didn't look at any other maps or reference materials when doing these. I've just always been a geography buff.

The plains provinces always throw me, but I think I got it right.

Easy peasy, since I've been there and traveled through all of it but WA and Tasmania.

Realized after the fact that I forgot Andorra, but that's okay. Everyone else does too. And I think I mixed up Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.

The small area below Lithuania belongs to Russia, I genuinely forget why though but I think it has to do with them wanting to keep a hold of a major shipping area in the Baltic Sea, although I'm probably wrong.

You sucked so bad at Canada. Like, none of the maritimes were right (except the Newfies) and none of the plains were right. :D

So there's been an image of a map of the US with states labelled by an Australian with very limited geographical knowledge doing the rounds on the 'Net recently...
I'd like to see that. Do you have a link or something?

Hey, I got Alberta right.

I didn't even remember that there was a province called New Brunswick.  :-[

They took it so they could have a warm-water port for basing the Baltic Fleet.  Leningrad didn't really qualify due to being ice-locked part of the year, and the others available options in the Baltic states were part of separate SSRs, not Russia.  Koenigsberg, being German and largely destroyed in the fighting, was a prime target for being annexed as a part of reparations, and since the USSR was busily reshaping the ethnic and political landscape of the East in either case, they just kicked out the Germans and resettled the region with Russians.

If it makes you feel better, I only remembered it because of a joke in another forum game after a botched treaty.  For my part, I completely forgot that Canadian Texas is right next to Canadian California. ^_^

Did the one for Africa; mostly serious, with a couple jokes here and there.  I'm...not really good at snark.

I'm pretty familiar with European and USA geography, playing a lot of Paradox games, but nonetheless I'll do this for fun anyway. Who knows, maybe I'll get something wrong.

As for Canada, not that familiar and Australia... uhh, sorry, haven't played as you guys yet or as someone nearby enough. I know absolutely nothing about your state's make. At least I know the rough location of Sydney.

Note, everything I scribbled out is stuff I was incorrect on. You can consider any state that's crossed off to be incorrect. Sorry anyone who lives there, but you should've gotten your states more memorable shapes and more memorable cities.
