And it still has the chance of defending itself at least. The Osprey is more then capable of beating current enemy fighters so it's well worth having.

Note: Design 9, sparrow, is pretty much the same as 3.1, and is probably meant as counter-proposal to 3.

Well the sparrow is relatively modest, I wanted something thats not to complicated to begin with so it won't be to hard to produce. Sparrow if it goes well will be well armed, fast, agile and resilient.

Yeah it mostly is the only difference is mines a bit more heavily armed.

You designed an attack version off the Cod this turn.

Which I would like another name for, could get confusing otherwise.
Why not cod 2 big (insert color of it here) one?:P
would a missle powered by compressed air with a warhead made out of some light metal and filled with compressed oxygen(or some other flammable gas) or equally something useless but having little to do with air be more affected by an engineer trained in air?

I'm not sure I understand you on that...
The way I see it, aerodynamics speciality means that they know how to design a streamlined body, a propeller, light structures and so on.
This profits rockets, too, of course.

Idea for rocket: A ca. 50kg rocket with ca. 10kg warhead to be launched from aircraft.
Fits the ground attack role and can be used nicely against their [later] subs and torpedo boats (which can evade torpedoes, but a single rocket should probably be enough against them) - and the Osprey can carry about twenty maximum. Thoughts on that?

Oh, and what specialist should we take? I'd say, either Materials or Rocketry.

I don't see having an integral radio and bomb rack as something "not simple". We (will probably) have that on the Osprey, so let's make a fighter compliment to it, using similar specs. I also want it to be significantly lighter so it can actually fend off attacks on the Ospreys.

In addition, I wanted some kind of simple transport seaplane from Comintern. Mainly because it would be uninteresting to most.

On the other hand, I'm thinking... why not an Me-163 for defense? Perhaps the rocketry guys around would be very, very happy about that.

Well the bomb rack is pointless. it's a fighter not a bomber thats why we have the Osprey. Carrying bombs will make it to slow to act as a fighter meaning it can't cover the Osprey or protect itself. Enemy Monowings would rip it to pieces.

The Rack can be used for many things. External fuel tank, Ground attack role, Light bombing when there is already air superiority, life after relegated to secondary role, etc. It is not intended to be used when carrying out air-superiority (droppable tanks don't can't), and it is not even expensive or heavy; its just a hardpoint.

We must avoid the fate of the Raven suddenly becoming obsolete because of a lack of utility.

The Raven is going obsolete because it's a biwing. Biwing always goes obsolete fast.

The Raven is going obsolete because it's a biwing. Biwing always goes obsolete fast.
And it can only be used for light ground attack operations from then on, by firing its MG. Instead if it has bombing capacity it can carry a bomb rather than the pilot throwing grenades.

IRL Most Fighters do have limited bombing capacity.

I guess, but this early it's doubtful we'll ever need it for bombing.
