How easy will this be to mod? Like DF's raws or more complex?

Probably going to put in $20. There's 24 days to go so I'll sit and think about it. I'm pretty sure someone has already named a character Urist.

Lol, the $6k backing only gets a bonus perk to name the world? Are you going to turn down the angel investor who wants to call the world Phallus?

It's a shame that the name of the ship will be fixed, but okay.

That $1500 would probably go into artwork/music/atmosphere in some way. I think it's a good enough trade for not being able to name the ship.

Grah, me want game! Nice to see that the kickstarter has breached 100k canadian dollars.

I also like that there aren't any "stretch goals" which are a pet peeve for me.

18 days can't come quick enough, plus Halloween as well!

Well, I wish I could help, but my Gift card is supreme jackass and wont let me buy from the Canadians.

Yes, +1 to no stretch goals. I saw a couple people on Steam Greenlight whining about the lack of stretch goals, and I just wanted to voice my support that having no stretch goals is a good thing.

Feature creep is out of control on Kickstarter, and Tynan's laser focus on achievable scope is a very welcome change. Given how many Kickstarters have overpromised and underdelivered as of late, I think RimWorld is doing the right thing for its backers.

Thanks everyone on the stretch goal support. It's nice to see that people understand that you can't buy well-designed, integrated game features from some magical market somewhere :)

So Tynan have you been able to find a new artist yet?

Yes, I'm working in the early stages with an artist who seems promising. We're working on the character look so far. It'll always be armless/legless/simple vector for gameplay and technical and production reasons, but the style is distinct from PA and I think it works well.

Stopping feature creep is fine, but I'm always surprised to see how even a few essentially meaningless, cosmetic stretch goals can bring in tens of thousands more.  I guess it doesn't matter as with almost 6x the goal already more money won't be making that much difference unless you are willing to enlarge your team.

Yeah the thing is it's pretty disingenuous to have some meaningless cosmetic goal with the purpose of trying to raise more money for not actually doing the stretch goal, like I really don't like some of the Star Citizen stretch goals like $500,000 for one new flyable ship in the game. Does it really cost $500k to make an extra ship for the game?

And then on the other hand they have features which should be in the game which aren't and they are waving the goal around to try and get money for it, either that or they were planning on making a pretty feauture-lite game originally.

---

As for the art I don't mind so much, Prison Architect aren't the first people to use blobs to represent people, it's sort of annoying to see people get so angry about it like RimWorld needs to start paying royalties or something.

They weren't planning the moon for sure given the starting amount.

But I'll be happier with less well integrated mechanics than a trucload of everything with detail level all over the place like gnomoria after the component chain update
