Well I'm glad I checked in at this hour.

=======================
 End Event
=======================
Kwaa-naa's unit
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Most of the prey got away. One was killed by the Maulfaces and collected by Mick's fishermen on their way back.

(Gathered 300 + 50 food)
(Collected a lot of leather)
(Collected a lot of bones)

Kwaa-naa's unit
 Morale +1 for successful hunt
 New tactic: Squad-based dive bombing (as opposed to at random)
 Squad Experience +1, Combat Experience +1

Mick's unit
 Morale +1 for being entertained by dive bombed Maulfaces
=============================================

Monday's update will be slightly early due to my evening being occupied.

Yet more notes: At this point all the morale stuff has no bearing. It's just for amusement purposes.

Kwaa-naa requested to have some sinew for new bows.

Bows done by laminating strips of wood with sinew on the outside after shaping (using boiled leather or bone glue).

Also, if someone wanted more bows, promise to do them for everyone, in return for building tools.

I'm so getting some of those. Don't know what to offer in return, maybe I'll just make them myself. Yes, I think I'll make them myself like I decided earlier.

Little additions to my earlier actions.

If any of my people have time to spare, they make fires and smoke the meat (using sticks and ropes to make a kind of laddered shelf with heather/grass on it above the fire, meat goes ontop to get smoked.)

I dunno if it was in happening already or not, but Mick announces and tries to get EVERYONE to follow a protocol of eating the least fresh food first to make the most of what they have.

So that's twice now my stated course of action has been ignored by the GM. I'm out.

((...Um, i'm keeper, I  gave orders...))
Journal Entry 1:

So after getting settled, and a lot of strange folks getting to talking to each other, we went and collected materials and seeds for planting. We didn't have any tools yet, but we sure had a lot of large sticks and rocks around. Building housing could wait, it wasn't too bad in the open sky, especially with all of those paranoid people with all the pointy sticks. hmm... list of things to do today!

Start 2 primitive farms by using the the rocks to break the ground, and the pointed sticks to dig rows. (8 builders) Create 1 large one and one smaller one. (6 builders big, 2 builders small)

Plant any weavable plants we found last week and plant them in the smaller farm. (20 farmers)

Plant any edible plants we found last week and plant them in the larger farm. (10 farmers)

Gather lumber for later use in building huts. (8 axemen)

Get the weavers and clothes makers to gather more food. (2 weavers, 2 clothesmakers)

Well, lets hope we survive this week.

-end of entry-

((Did i do that right?))

Ash if you keep missing posts I can be sure that this thread will die soon, even I enjoyed your cynical and wonky writing style.

That said I guess Ash don't even keep a list of which player correspond to which tribe, so he just searched for the leader, and if it do not turn up, no order. Just guessing though.

Anyway for Kwaa-naa's tribe this week.

-----------------------

What a mess. Aside from the some horrendous communication error and lapses in other tribes, the town - if it is a town - is no more than an assemblage of 500 souls milling around, and piling food and everything else on the floor.

This has to be stopped.

As avians, we understand the value of height, and food should be safe from predators, wildlife, and most threats if they are stored on trees. Baring a catastrophe, of course, but that's the idea.

Design tree house. Basically a platform hung up by ropes and supported by strong tree branches, just below the canopy of the tree. Provide rope ladders for access, or we could volunteer to move things around. We can also build some for ourselves as reward.

Tinkerers should develop a lance for charging. Use strong wood, and cut them into poles as long as avians. Use sharp stone as spearhead for the moment. Don't worry about strength; The sheer speed of avians and long reach of the lance should suffice.

Try to catch a few horse-analogues (what should it be called?) by chasing them into nets.

Find a few volunteers to have a fly-by at the non-wildlife anomaly to investigate.

Everyone else go hunting. Test and improve the new lances if needed.

If the lances goes well, we should develop a tactic, involving archers firing in a caracole formation, and once the enemy is weakened enough, the lancers should do a diving charge maneuver and drive home.

Yeah, I'm aware  :(

Unfortunately this may very well keep happening in the future. When it does, facepalm and point me in the right direction. God knows I can use the help.

I almost got shafted by the whole "which player is which" thing the first week. I keep a fairly detailed spreadsheet but I have a bad tendency to not go back far enough. -sigh-.

Anyways, before I forget more.

Kesh (if he's still around; god knows I dropped his ball often enough) needs a name for his military tactic.

Just a reminder for event for Kwaa-naa's tribe:

Find a few volunteers to have a fly-by at the non-wildlife anomaly to investigate.

(we don't have boats so I guess avians are our best bet.)
