Being able to see in the dark probably doesn't hurt either.

Suggestion for once patrols are set up, use the nekos (and maybe the elves if they have low-light/night vision too) only during the night due to their night vision and because they're nocturnal anyway.

Scratch that, throwing-axe-wielding cats in the dark.
They're cute but my god that's terrifying.

Wait, avians suck at charging? I'd like to change to half-elves.

@Elephant Parade
Nah, they're insane with a charge.
It's the after the charge close quarters melee they're bad at.

To Clarify:
Avians basically charge in two major types: High altitude (Death From Above) and Low Altitude (Parallel Charge)
DFA is very much all-in, hits a small group of targets but pretty much kills them on contact, and leaves the chargers very open to counter action.
Parallel charge is -like- a cavalry charge, in that the overall damage is good but a straight charge into a defense line -will- get some of your guys killed.

Overall they should be treated like light cavalry. Hit flanks, hit the back, and get out.

Okay, then; I'll stick with avians.

Tactics:
  1. Charge in, strike with spears.
  2. Fly out.
  3. Attack with bows and wizard powers.
  4. Continue 3 until enemy is distracted; at this point go back to 1.

Keep in mind this will be a joint operation between all (participating) players, so...feel free to have "wait until someone else walks into melee first" as a backup.  :D

so 160 enemies? against, let's see...

12 elven spearmen
4 elven mages
30 neko axemen (ouch)
8 neko axemen
18 elven archers
8 avian archers
8 avian spearmen
5 half-elves mages

that's 93 "professionals". Plus possible militia including notably:

12 elven miners
18 human fishermen
8 human lumberjacks
8 elven fishermen
23 avian hunters

adding 69 more or less combat-capable troops. for a total of 162, including 9 mages.

I, II, III, IV Archers keep the enemy avians at bay, using hit-and runs.
I support try to pin the enemy elven archers down. drop rocks from a safe height to disturb them.

Heh... 2 hours later I finally realise this is combat training XD.
Slow Max is slow.

Roight! In your post, you say to hold off forming combat groups and orders. Is that still in effect?

@Maximum McDreich
Yep; I'm gonna wait until Week 4 ends (after Friday) to begin the Combat session.

@evilcherry
Once combat starts let me know if you want to keep that order submission. :3

@kaian-a-coel
Final enemy count will be decided by how many units the players submit when the time comes. Future battles will have a static amount.

@Elephant Parade
When the time comes you can.

@All
I'm putting combat 'till after week 4 'cuz I want to get that stuff out of the way first.

Is there any way to open the dialogue and amend for "accidental" deaths, as this looks like a big misunderstanding?

Roight, time for a turn.

Mini-event: Apologise for the actions of the nekos and avians. State that we ourselves, are somewhat vulnerable and are twitchy. He had hoped that he could have made contact earlier, but realises he may have looked intimidating to 3 watchers.
Ask if there is a preference to the burial of the bodies, or if he'd like to find a way to bring the two bodies back with him for a burial back home. If the latter, provide the means to allow him to (see below). Also mention that it will be likely that these raiders will become a problem for both of them, and suggests keeping in touch with each other. If nothing else, a friendly neighbour being attacked is bad.

Now for turn:
Fishers will smoke all the meat the camp has before fishing (if they have time). They then fish and smoke (the fish that is).
Lumberjacks build some dragcarts. (2 long sticks that have a sheet of leather between then tied by rope. Person holds on one end and drags it with items on the leather. Reason for not an actual cart: I imagine the terrain might be a bit rugged, making a wheel may be outwith what we have and it'd be VERY difficult to fjord a cart.) Lumberjacks then go about cutting trees and bringing back lumber to the camp.

Gatherers and Orchadeers see about helping the granary/root cellar build (was totally gonna make that this turn XD)

4 Builders begin the building of the Commune. This is a house set to house 50 people comfortably, 100 crowded. A largeish area is dug a metre deep, lined with stones and rocks, in a circle. The spare dirt is then used to complete the wall another meter high (or meter and a half, I'm just guessing) and reinforced with wooden stakes. Stones are then placed into this dirt aswell. Wooden beams cross the top at regular intervals, before it is covered with straw/seaweed/leather/whatever to make it waterproof. If the material used is light, it is held down by rope.
Build as many as we can, and get 2/3's of the unengaged spare population to help.

4 Builders build shields. These are rectangular, about a meter high and half as wide. They are made with smaller half-logs tied together with rope, along with two half logs on the back running along the shield to add rigidity. It is held with a wooden grip made from a 'u' shaped piece of wood glued into place with tied rope and animal glue (This game makes me look stuff up: Animal glue is gained through prolonged boiling of animal connective tissue. Horses were the most common animal for this, but rabbits and fish were others.). Get the last third of the unengaged population to help.
No they don't. 4 Builders build Squad Shields. These are 2 meter high, 4 meter wide half-log shields, held together in the same way a shield is, but with half-log stands underneath so that it can be placed upright. It is lifted by 4 to 5 people by wooden handles held in place by animal glue and rope. Idea is one half of squad lifts, the other half follows. Once close enough to melee, they drop said shield and fight. Get the last third of spare unengaged population to help.

If someone could somehow invent the saw, oh man, would that be useful. Could you make stone saws?

Sorry for the large turn, Ash XD. I've kinda got really into this...
