If you can, I will never use any other option. . . Ever.

Seriously, telling your broken-down car to "Cool it" should be an option in every game.

Damn, I wish I could fund this.

This looks pretty cool for a zombie game.

Also, I approve of the Tarn appearance.

If you want to support us but don't have the money to throw at Kickstarter, we could really use Greenlight votes if you have a Steam account.

As of this post we're at #85 out of all 1,404 games on Greenight. Been going up slowly and steadily, but I think we need like triple the votes to make it through.

The Death Road to Canada Kickstarter probably isn't going to reach $50k, so no elaborate outtakes. But it does look like it's going to hit $40k. If it does, I'll do a short video of Tarn hitting himself in the eye over and over as we filmed his sunglasses scene. See a side of Tarn you usually wouldn't see (him in increasing amounts of pain).

Our Greenlight is at #29 right now, which seems impossibly good. We've only been up for 28 days, and the last press coverage we got was a small amount 4 weeks ago. Is posting to the Bay 12 Forums the secret to success?

Anyway we can really use more Greenlight votes, if anyone has a Steam account and hasn't voted already. I think the next round of approvals will probably be the top 25 or so, and right now we're just outside of that.

"The Bay12 bump."

Lots of games have started here, or been mentioned here on their way up by the creators. Very few of them have had insane success. But being that so many people, from AAA developers and publishers on down, are fans of Tarn and DF it's hard not to receive some kind of additional exposure for having your game discussed on Bay12. You never know who is lurking these boards.

But ultimately, it's your game that got you noticed. We just helped ;) I think it hit all the right notes, especially for a zombie game since the genre is so crowded now, striking a nice balance between a beat 'em up and all the RPG/storytelling devices. A serious dose of "cool it" also didn't hurt.

Although I can't help but feel that simply have Toady One in the video made a lot of people click the "YES" button, if nothing else would. It's hard to overstate how even a silly endorsement from Tarn for your game, which he rarely if ever does even in passing, carries a metric fuckton of cred. The Kickstarter may have excluded people who couldn't afford it or wouldn't back it....but click the vote button on Steam is free.

It's why I and a lot of people tend to get very cross with random developers starting threads here to publicize their games. Lots of people want to tap into the publicity this board can offer.
