I picked something else, not cause I want something else but cause I wanted to abstain but still see poll results. :P

I like the plans but I also miss the spontaneity of FEF1 and how we all managed to survive anyway (crazy healdancing, etc). It's a toss-up.

My issue is just that I really don't like being stuck in panic moments. They really stress me out which is why I tend to plan things. That being said, at least so far it looks like majority is leaning towards not planning as much, so that's what we'll do.

I do miss the way FEF1 worked, with the panicky tactical storms we'd get in IRC

There wasn't even any IRC, those tactistorms were happening in the OOC thread. You can even look them up! :v

Yeah, ok, consensus is only rarely planning. But if we start taking two weeks for turns, I'mma start planning again. :V

See, I would rather not have to rely on coinflips to determine if we all live or if we lose people :|

I'm all for planning, at least once battle is joined.

Huh? If we were relying on coinflips to determine who lived and died then we would have had more deaths than just Taricus over two FEF games.

It's less that I want us to not bother planning, it's more that I want it more collective.

You seriously don't remember some of the gambles we had to make in some of the more dire situations? At any point we could have lost people. Having a 50% chance to survive would have been an improvement in some cases.

Right, ok, let me put my thoughts out here a bit more since I'd mostly been trying to abstain from arguing for planning since I'm clearly biased in favor of it. But here's the thing. I prefer not waiting to plan until we're in a dire situation for two reasons.

1) It's really stressful to me to get into those situations (personal reason and I'm aware not everyone feels the same)
2) It's a lot easier to avoid a dire situation than it is to get out of one.

2 is the real issue for me. If we get to the point where we're in a dire situation, we're not in control any more. Everything needs to go right to get out. Like 9x or whatever. The only reason people didn't die is because you guys got lucky. Realistically, someone should have died. But if you plan ahead of time, you can largely avoid those situations. Yeah, sometimes people still get downed, and we still get in bad situations, but they're not to the point of "Frick frick frick, please don't let that guy hit her or we're going to die" type of things that happen more often with no plans.

I have said *so many times* that people should comment on my plans, that people should criticize my plans, that they should offer alternate plans. If you want to help with the planning, then do so. Offer alternate plans, question why I suggest things. I'm not trying to have a monopoly on plans and neither is anyone else.

The precise reason why we're not criticizing is simply because the plans are so thorough we feel no need to improve :v. The plans tend to keep it so that we don't fall into those odds-heavy situations that we run into in FEF1, hence curtail the need for criticism of plans.

Personally I'm good if sword can improve on plans that other players of the group make when they deem it necessary, instead of sweating the minutiae for every turn.

I for one think the planning is a good thing,  and that if we choose to shy away from it a bit, I ask that we plan at least when pcs are down.
