Look, stop whining and define how the missiles track things already.

missiles fired by the fighters are fire and forget. given enough range they can lock onto a target or be targeted from the fighter itself.

In this case, Fighter 1 aimed at Stella but manuelly targeted Sen's Paper coatl. When Stella dodged, the missile's targeting protocol activated and course corrected to intercept Sen

fine have sen hit, but toward PN (who didn't choose to have sen drag him unto the paper thing, he already had summoned his own mount, and HILDA who was unconscious) it's plain unfair. Note that the Karakil had a lot better chance to dodge the missile than Sen. Why did Sen even pick up Alucard in the first place if they priorize demons as targets?

If we're willing to accept that Sen got targeted, all of that is reasonable. Would you have been arguing about this if the missile was initially aimed at the clump of folks?
It's the first bit that's unreasonable.

Ashley teleport-dodged a missile
Alucard/Barti-chan and Sen, both demons, but the missiles somehow fucked up Barti-chan and not Sen.

So what's the issue here?

the unfair bit is that the missile basical gets two rolls to hit. There was first a roll vs Stella, which missed, so the missile gets to roll again and rolls vs Sen. we don't get any second tries, if we miss, we have missed

On the one hand, it arguably makes sense if it indeed has some sort of onboard targeting. On the other hand,

So yeah, in the absence of a hit the missile could be reasonably expected to keep going forward the same direction and veer off into infinity. :U

so the realism argument is a mixed bag.

for minimal retcon, I'll assume that the missile being fired at Stella was a feint, it was just the general direction of Stella, but never locked onto her, it was just meant to look that way. Stella dodging an attack that probably would not have hit her anyway (hard to judge at those distances and speeds) made Sen think she was out of danger and diverted her focus, and bam, Sen was hit.

This is basically what happened. Stella being in front of hte jet when it fired the missile was just coincidence. As said Aiming and targeting have different meaning.
