I just based my team off my current ingame team. Except Torterra's Shell Armor.

Otherwise, that's exactly my ingame team.

well, Mienshao has always been one of my favourite pokes, but it's dreafully frail. it rarely survives more than one hit, so either it one-shots it's enemy, or gets the fuck out with u-turn

so I looked at regenerator and thought...hey...if I take really really bulky pokemon with this ability, does that mean I can basicaly switch them out for free, as long as the enemies damage is 3-hit KO-ish ?

and lo, the idea wasnt too bad

... I am a little gutted that my age old favourite, Butterfree's almost impossible to fit in unless I am aiming to get completely smashed...

Time to be adaptable I think.

for a viable butterfree, I advice putting everything into speed, using sleep-powder, setting up a substitute, and then boosting yourself with quiver dance, one of the best boost-moves of the game.

to avoid obliteration, the team should include someone who knows the move rapidspin, to get rid of stealth rocks and spikes. alternatively, use butterfree as a lead, when no stealthrocks are out yet

Never mind. I forgot you can't switch teams now.

Idea, interested players please raise hands:

A mono-type challenge cup. Every player will be assigned a type, and must build a team out of pokemon that have that type.

As everyone seems to agree that I am the most experienced player, I will leave the choice of what type I will be competing with to you. majority vote determines what type I start with.

after that has been determined, I will create a list with all types and and players in the thread will call a number between 1 and 16, determining the type they have to compete with - luck based. this means they might even draw something very dangerous, like dragon or steel. secondary types may not be used twice (so if a grass team has venusaur (garss/poison) no second poison type may be used

standard OU rules apply, 16 players would be the coolest, because 17 types, but I guess just 8 will do.

who is interested?

I'm tempted to call in on this, though i have no experience with competitive pokemon.
i take it with 16 players the excluded type would be normal?

having no experience with competetive is no problem in randomly assigned monotype.

the excluded type depends on the random draw

please start calling out my type those who sign up
