scapheap: oh boy, I put this type on 1 because I was hoping nobody would pick 1. 1 is water. water HURTS. it very much dominates the OU game, heck, even ubers
Someone always pick 1. What list do I make the team under?

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

standard OU.

as explained earlier, remember that the secondary type must not be repeated

man, can't wait until my type is revealed. bug might have a hard time defending itself against certain things, but it does give me access to some of the strongest most destructive forces of the game, as well as the best baton passers and the best boost moves. baton passing such boosts unto such sweepers will be fuuuun.

and normal, man, normal is exiting. very versatile, true beasts among them, and a very unpredictable movepool. it at least gives me the chance to counter absolutely everything that the other monoteams could have against me, save ghost and fighting I guess, but those are managable

I am glad nobody said poison

we still need an 8th dude, so be patient. we could go with double-elimination again, but I am hoping that might not be necessary

Ugh. I always take hours to build my team.

Not just for this, though my last team did take hours to build.

Crap. From the looks of it, Ice ends up being almost entirely Sweepers.

We don't have many defensive 'mon...and I don't see much of a point in having multiple physical sweepers.

Also, is using both Kyurem-B and Kyurem non-allowed? I don't know whether they share the same pokedex number.

Check out Articuno and Regice for defensive ice types. Mamo/Piloswine are tanks.

well, if everyone could pick their own type, wouldn't it be a bit unfair for the ones who are not online the moment that is announced, so those at an opportune time just grab dragon and steel and have an auto-bonus?
I wouldn't say so, especially not if they picked first. (Counterpicking!)

I really want you to play a dragon team, but I guess I'll vote Bug since that would otherwise throw away my vote.

Mamoswine's a tank? With that stat spread?

Anyway...*sigh* I'm very new to this, so I guess I'll just mess around and try what I think would work.

110 HP is definitely enough to take a hit or two. It's a general term for that sort of bulky offense 'mon. You have frail sweepers, tanks, walls, utility 'mons, revenge killers, spinblockers, regular sweepers (more common in higher tiers where something can have both bulk and speed), clerics, et cetera. Mamoswine is of the sort that can sponge neutral hits and smash back with some serious power. (Also, Ice Shard makes him a decent revenge killer.)

Gengar, Several good poison+bug or poison+grass, Toxicroak if you want to try for a Rain Dance, it has decent resistances(ground and psychic being it's only weaknesses), and most Poison types are dual-typed, meaning you can make use of other types of moves to cover up for Poison's poor offensive ability. Poison+Dark and Poison+flying aren't uncommon either. There's also some poison+waters, like tentacruel, who can rapid-spin.

Every type has weaknesses and strengths, mostly in the selection of pokemon you can choose from...

EDIT: Oh yeah, and the Nido-lutions, for ground type.
